We have stayed in the crown a few times and frequent the restaurants every other week. The rooms are enjoyable with a great semi open plan. Restaurants are the highlight of the area. Because we stay at many hotels around the world it's quite often the finer details that make a stay enjoyable, and this is where the Crown disappointed us, and the grossly expensive extras.
The cons:
- $12 for a teeny tiny bowl of frozen chips
- $29.95 for their slowest internet per day. I can say this is the first time in the world I have had to pay for the internet at a hotel, even maccas offer it for free.
- $40 per hour if you wanted to stay past 11am on check out day
- not enough toiletries for four people
- you can see straight into other peoples room through the car park facing windows (unless your into that sort of thing!)
- if you don't have a credit card, they will take another $100 from your debit card for the pleasure.
- poor breakfast options

Pros:
- great service from pool attendant
- clean room
- fast checkout
- great restaurant choice

So overall the rooms are nice but my gripes were the extra costs that are extremely exorbitant and not worth the outlay, especially if you compare to the 6.5 billion dollar hotel Marina bay sands which is about the same price if not cheaper but has far more inclusions and 10x better facilities.

My husband booked a night here for my birthday. The place looks amazing. But we arrived at the hotel at 4.30pm (check in was from 3) and we had to wait til 5.45pm before our room was ready. And even then it was after we asked after lining up a second time. They gave us a voucher for a complimentary drink at the lounge bar but we still weren't expecting to wait over an hour. Once we got up to the room our bags didn't arrive for another half hour.
They did give us a bottle of wine for my birthday, which was nice.
The bathtub was great but when we tried to empty it, the water came up through the floor drain which was a bit disgusting.
Checkout was another nightmare (11am). Firstly a cleaner just barged into our room at 10.45 - lucky we were both dressed. And when we got down there was another long line to check out. Surely for a 5 star crown hotel, the process should be more streamlined.
All in all the place us excellent, dinner at modo mio was delicious, but the checkin/out process left us a little disappointed for the hefty price tag.

I booked a nights accommodation due to attending a function at Burswood Ballroom. We arrived at the Metropol around 4PM and checked in. The valet service was friendly as was the the reception.

We booked into a Luxe View room which was comfortable with a view to wards Burswood Peninsula. Our room was located above the Atrium restaurant but no noise heard from the restaurant, but it was nice to walk out of the room in the morning and having the scent of fresh pastries and bacon was just right to entice you down to breakfast.

Having previously been upgraded to a Loft Suite, I would next time spend the extra and go for the suite.

Room Tip: Request room 327 as it is a larger room.

We stayed here on Saturday night for our anniversary. The check in staff were very friendly and professional and even sent up some champagne and chocolates (really yummy chocolates too). the foyer looks amazing. We were only on the second floor, but still had a great view of the pool, river and city.

I really don't think the room is worth even close to $595. The sloppy house keeping really let it down. there was mold in our shower, cracked tiling around the shower head fitting (I guess the fault of whoever did the refurbishment) Plus small things, eg, if you are going to have a lot of chrome finishes, then you need to polish them, all the taps had water marks all over (this literally takes 2 seconds to wipe off with a big of shower cleaner and a chux cloth) and even the desk was all smudgy and the bed just looked they just chucked the quilt on and left in a hurry - just doesn't give a very good first impression, when you pay that much, you expect the 'wow' factor.

Also we asked the concierge out the front to order a taxi for us as we were going out for dinner, he looked really put out, like it was the most strange request???? wanted us to walk through the casino to the taxi rank...ummm no, we are paying hotel guests, you order us a taxi!?

All in all, we still really enjoyed our stay and after dinner, came back to the casino and had a great night in the many bars.

We stayed on the 8th floor with beautiful views of Perth City, Swan River and the Poolside area. We used our complimentary valet service upon arrival and all went well. Check in took less than 6 minutes and then we were greeted in our room with a complimentary chilling bottle of bubbly by the General Manager (nice touch). Arriving at our door by hand an ice bucket. I went to look at the views that just put an awesome smile on my face. Thank you Crown Perth Metropol. The stunning views are what I remember back in 2002 when it was called the Burswood. That was on business and this time it's all pleasure. My son enjoyed watching the elevators going up and down and loved the ride in the elevators. Then we went to the 9th floor lounge open 5.30pm - 8pm, where we had more great service and enjoyed canapés, pre-dinner drinks and very comfortable décor and chairs. Our reservation was for 5.45pm which is a good time when you have a 2 year old. And was notified by email about the reservations that were made for us. So we headed down to the Atrium Restaurant Bar and enjoyed the buffet dinner. $75 per adult and children are free. Beautiful food on display to choose from. Scallops, prawns, succulent steaks, salmon, oh the list goes on. Ice creams in a waffle cone, Danish pastries, cheeses and crackers fruit oh the list goes on. My only disappointment was I couldn't fit in the beautiful curries, pappadums and hot dishes, oh well. Then we found our way back to our rooms and the bed was turned down and fresh towels on the rack as we gave the child a bubble bath in the spa bath. I was completely satisfied and ready to lay down my head on the KING sized bed and to stop myself from looking at the fantastic night views of the city, the Swan and the poolside. Nice. Oh so about 7.30am this morning we go to the 9th floor lounge room for breakfast. Coffee upon sitting to eat, fluffy scrambled eggs, juicy bacon and decent bread for toast. Had coffee top ups and the most gorgeous view of the other side of the Crown Perth Metropol. Watching people and good wait service as well. Check out about 9am and kind of sad at that, it's over. Mr Kishore greets us goodbye and into our Beamer and home. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Crown Perth Metropol. Excellent service, food, drinks and wonderful staff. Keep it up!

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms with a view of the city, swan river and poolside it may cost a little extra but it...
