“Nice campsite on Lake Michigan”

Wilderness State Park

We camped at this park for 2 nights. Our site was #69 and we were steps from the sandy beach with it's lovely sunsets. The campsites are a bit tight and you have to watch for the trees when you back your trailer in. All in all in was a nice camping experience. The park is beautiful but the big 2 negatives for me were the barking dogs and the showers. The 3 co-ed showers lack privacy since they are actually stalls with outside doors. No heat, dark and pretty nasty. Wear your flip flops if you must use them.

Visiting the area we stopped by to stretch our legs and get a nice walk in. There are many trails in this park, well maintained and at each trail crossing there is a map making it almost impossible to get lost. You could hike all day if you wanted.

Our Family had a Wonderful time at Wilderness State Park
The highlight of our trip was the Presentation about Bats
given by Bob, at the Nature Center.
Very interesting. Our grandchildren were so excited to hear what Bob had to say,
and talked about how we were going to make Bat houses when we got home.
The Park was very quiet at night.
We would definitely go back.
