This place was a hit with our kiddos (10, 10 and 2.) They have lots of hands on things for the kids o touch, climb, smell, look at and learn about.
We started off in a wind chamber that blew 78 mile an hour winds so you could feel a hurricane force wind. Very cool. We then experimented with wind direction with some blowers and pinwheels. You arranged blocks in front of the fans and watched a wall of pinwheels to see how the wind current chnged position.
We played lots of games and learned where they originated, like shuffle board, chess, and some others that were really cool. We say lots of habitats for birds, and animals from mice to bears.
We also got to check out grossology, which was all about the gross stuff the human body does. How and why we have snot, what causes a burb and what it sounds like, bodily odors from your pits to your butt. Now you might think this is inappropriate, but it is set up in a way that is educationa, and fun. My kids liked both the snot animatronics and the burp machine ( guess that is what 2 year olds really think is funny.) We also saw fish, turtles, and some owls that were recovering from eye damage. They also had to bald eagles at the entrance there were so beautiful. All in all, it was a really fun adventure for us and a great place for kids to have a hands on experience with cool science.
