Description: The roots to this Cape Cod landmark trace their origins back to the old country and follow a route through Canada before settling in along Route 28. The Yarmouth House Restaurant was founded in 1978 by the Kounadis family patriarch, Gerry Kounadis. Born in Kefalonia, Greece, Gerry immigrated to Canada with his lovely wife, Vasiliki, in 1951. There, he operated a very successful diner in Montreal for over 35 years. His dream was to expand and open another restaurant in the United States. In 1978 he founded The Yarmouth House and he knew he had found a diamond in the rough. He brought with him his three children to help run the restaurant. With hard work and dedication, the restaurant became one of Cape Cod’s favorites, as it remains today. In August 2006, Gerry Kounadis passed away, but his presence is still felt every day in the restaurant. He left behind memories of his great sense of humor, positive attitude, accommodating demeanor and his famous welcoming smile. Today, his son Chris runs the kitchen along with other very talented chefs like Gary Sprague and Amir Ahari. The dining room is run by his son-in-law, Ted Zambelis, and his daughter Angie, who try hard to keep up the family’s goal of remaining a restaurant with the finest food at reasonable prices in an inviting and friendly atmosphere. The family owns and operates DiParma Italian Table on Route 28 in W. Yarmouth as well as our newest location, DiParma Italian Table, Seekonk, MAWe want to take this opportunity to thank all our patrons, especially the many supportive Cape Cod residents who have kept us in business for over 31 years.Thank you and God Bless

Stopped in while visiting the cape for vacation. Food and service was very good. Waiter was working with a trainee, nice to see them training new employees. Had the prime rib and seafood bisque, wife had the citrus salmon special, and my little one had the grilled cheese. All well made and arrived quickly. Also a very nice dish of real ice cream was included with the kids meal.

We got the sun set special that includes an appetizer and desert for the less than the price of the entree would normally be as we were there before rush hour. No lines or wait. Huge portions. It seemed like a fancy place but the host said our attire was acceptable when I asked. The stuffed bear and zebra print seating was out of place. ;) Our waiter wasn't up on "gluten-free" or what contained egg. She did give us veggies instead of the bread so that was super thoughtful at the beginning of our meal. I'd go back. I recommend but maybe not for those with food allergies with his particular wait staff. Message me privately to hear more about specifics.

I'm giving this a terrible rating due to the service, not the food. The food was excellent as it always is. We visit Yarmouth House every year when we are at the Cape and this was the first bad experience with the service. First of all we had to wait close to an hour to be seated, very unorganized. Had to check with the hostess to see where our name was the list, convinced it was skipped as other people were being seated before us that came in after.
Now for the waiter. After about 25 mins we had to ASK HIM to take our order. No bread delivered to the table, had to ask for it. Still did not bring it. Passed the table about 20 times. Food finally comes out, then the bread. Not attentive at all. Worst waiter ever!
Again, food was amazing. Unfortunately poor service all around.

Seafood pasta with added lobster was tasty and the prime rib was delicious. Wine prices were good. Our server didn’t seem to be in a good mood but it was still a nice experience
