“Red Jacket Beach”
Reviewed 28 August 2012

We have been staying at the Red Jacket for 15 years every summer. It was recently renovated and is better than ever. The new outdoor bar and grille and patio area is awesome and enhanced an allready beautiful place. The pool and indoor pool are great and the private beach is beautiful. The kids club is better than ever and my two boys went every day and loved the counselors. The food at the grille is great and the frozen drinks are awesome. We met a great cocktail waitress named Ilyese who was super friendly and nice and she always brought our drinks to us quickly at the pool and the beach. She was awesome and worked hard all week! The general mgr Tom has ben there for years and is the nicest guy. He works hard and is always walking around picking up towels and trash and always has a smile for you. I admire his dedication and he had always been nice to us over the years. This place is the nicest on the cape and we spent 5 great nights in an ocean front room. The landscaping is beautiful and the grounds immaculate. I would like to see the hours of the outside bar extended and maybe a frequent renters program which offered a small discount to reward people who patronize red jacket resorts in cape cod and yarmouth several times a year.Prices are getting a little high!

Room Tip: if you can afford the ocean front rooms do it!

Thanks for thoughtfull comments and recognition of the "Kids Klub" staff, we all appreciate it. The outdoor bar has been successfull this year, we will continue to build on that including some other dining options. Please keep us informed as we enjoy hearing from our guests.

Have stayed here for the last 15 years and while some additions have spruced up the place (outdoor grill and cabana bar) the rooms are old looking and musty and the a/c loud and cranky...not what you would expect for $325/night. The tv's are circa 1995 and are small and not very loud. Not that tv is big ticket when you're on the ocean but it was so hot there this year that you had to take a break from the sun.....Staff is very friendly (Hello Wojo) and go out of there way to meet any wish you might have.

Still a very nice place but for the $$ you would expect some serious upgrades to match that price

We appreciate your loyalty over the years and thanks for sharing your comments. All of our oceanfront rooms have recieved new decor including flat screns and i Home units. We are making progress in completing that theme throghout the hotel. Ownership is always seeking opportunities to enhance our product and is reflected in the millions of dollars of refinements over the last few years. As always you will see improvements next season and more in the years to come. Our staff will continue to provide you with a welcome any time as we look forward to seeing you again.

I read some of the negative reviews but booked 2 nights anyway. Went for nostalgic reasons and we were glad we did. Most important, it is a family resort and they do it so well. So much for the kids to do and they foster an attitude for young guests to make friends. Parents will really appreciate this resort. Having said this we were a couple, and still found plenty of places to find peace and quiet. We saw several other couples also. But we knew to expect a family atmosphere from reading the reviews, etc. I am unsure how some guests were surprised by this....? The service is 5 star and just wonderful. Also liked the pool bar with outdoor grille. Not really a need to leave the resort which is a big plus whether you are a family or couple. View is just heaven. Corner lot so to speak and the resort make's sure it's guests only. What a spot of beach too.... peaceful canal floating beside. Rooms were very up to date and no musty smells. We were happy to come back and find another great stay.

Room Tip: We stayed ocean front, room 244. If you are looking for quiet, a good section. Families might wan...

Red Jacket Resort is all about the kids - in our case, kids ranged from 2 year old twins to 64 year old grandparents. It is like a cruise ship on a huge beach. This is a full amenity resort - three pools (one indoor), restaurant, pub, outdoor grill and bar, towels and beach chairs and tons of family activities. In our first two days here, there was a family olympics, circus activities
(face painting, bubbles, balloon animals), fishing, yo-yo demonstrations, magic show, bonfire with marshmallows, and family movie in the indoor pool ( dive in movies night). We had the dinner buffet by the pool which features nightly a live band (channeling Jimmy Buffet). Splurge on a cottage or townhouse with several bedrooms, bathrooms, living/dining room and full kitchen. You still get daily maid service with the separate accommodations. I found the cottage very clean and functional. The management is very professional and welcoming. The only downside- the beach is on the Atlantic Ocean so there is a lot of seaweed in the ocean water. This is a better beach to look for shells, capture a live scallop, or collect horseshoe crab shells than to actually swim.

Great Location! Good service. Definitely Not a resort, this place needs some serious upgrades. I was choked with the insane amount of chlorine in the indoor pool area of the Blue Water.

Stains on the flip side of the comforter in our king size 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom. One air conditioner in living room. We had to leave bedroom doors open to attempt to cool them off....not enough btu's.

Door card security locks were meant for indoor hotel. Salt air kill them. We were locked out for
one hour while they attempted to get door open.. We got in because I pried the window open and climbed in. The poor afternoon shift guy didn't have proper tools to fix. Thank God my husband is an insanely good mechanic. He never leaves home without his tools.
.
Not enough wi-fi coverage to supply everyone there. Make sure you connect right away if your carrier doesn't work.

over crowded pool area outside.

We won't not stay there again, we will do our homework next time.

This is not a review of Red Jacket Beach Resort and Spa. The unit and door locks are not products available here, nor is the pool as described.
