“Great location for Cape Visit”
Reviewed 12 September 2011

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights, the week before Labor Day. We opted for 2 rooms (#20 and 21) for our family of 4, and it worked out very well. There was no connecting door, but we were fine with the setup. The rooms are not fancy, but they're very clean and comfortable. The beds were doubles, and I would have preferred queens, but they were fine. The bathrooms seem to be newly updated, and are attractive. Overall, we were very happy with this hotel. When we were hanging at the hotel, the pool was nice, and the beachfront location was fantastic. The water was colder than the S. Jersey shore (just post-Hurricane Irene), and there were no lifeguards on that particular beach, but sitting on a lounge chair overlooking Nantucket Sound was ever so relaxing...and shell-collecting was fun as well. You can walk for quite a distance on the beach. The location was great for exploring the Cape. We took several day trips - to Chatham, P-town, on a whale-watching excursion, etc. The front desk staff was very helpful with travel and restaurant suggestions. If we have a chance to return, I'd try for an oceanfront efficiency suite, or at least an efficiency with a private balcony. (Note: I do hope they install more electrical outlets in the future. Everyone in our family travels with at least 3 items that require charging, and outlets were very hard to find in our rooms.)

Room Tip: It looks like the beach and pool view is good from all the rooms. Opt for an efficiency, and save so...

We had room 27, it has a private balcony facing the ocean. The hotel was well taken care of with friendly staff and amenities. Only 1 restaurant in easywalking distance, but lots on highway 28, in an easy 5 min drive. There was a few wild rabbits that came out to eat the well watered lawn by our room. (entertainment) great quiet location even though it was labor day weekend, we could relax and sleep undisturbed, with justthe sound of the surf.

Second year staying at the Surfcomber and we weren't disappointed. Stayed in Room 32 , top floor facing the beach, with it's own balcony. The rooms are clean and spacious and housekeeping did a great job. The grounds are well kept. Looks like a new fence around the pool. Walk to their own beach area. Convenient to restaurants and shopping.
Quiet at night . We'll be back next year !

We recently stayed here for 6 nights just after Hurricane Irene, and the grounds were wonderful - they had cleaned up quickly after the storm.
Our room overlooked the ocean and it was wonderful to keep the windows open at night to hear the surf. We had a large room with two very comfortable queen beds and a small kitchen. The place was spotless, although the kitchen could use a bit of updating, including a microwave.
The kids loved the pool, which is heated, and the beach is very calm - great for even the youngest of kids. Location of the hotel was central to everything - about an 1 1/4 hours to Provincetown, 25 minutes to Chatham and 15 minutes to Hyannis. There is a local Shaw's supermarket for groceries and many restaurants and activities nearby.
We would definitely stay here again and found out that many other people here return quite often. Very friendly staff, too!

Room Tip: Rooms 1, 2, 3 and 4 are larger and directly on the ocean.

We had a family reunion on the Cape with 58 of us attending from all over country and Canada. Many of us stayed here and enjoyed every minute of it. It's a very clean place with a happy, conscientious staff. We had a room with a full kitchen which came in handy with the young grandchildren who eat/snack constantly. I highly recommend this hotel, right on the ocean with a beautiful pool, to anyone looking to visit Cape Cod.
