I booked this hotel after seeing it rated as comparable to a '3-star' chain hotel. But for that comparison I would expect a standard room that had rugs, instead of a hard concrete floor covered with an enamel-like sealant made to look like a rug. The bathroom should also have a towel rack, and the main room should at least have a small table to use for work or eating.
Upon arriving, I found that my standard room was a room for smokers, a surprise in this age of the hospitality industry (Clerk's explanation: 'You didn't specify non-smoking.')
I was switched to a non-smoking room, only to find a cigarette butt and other trash in the room. That was discovered while trying to get the new TV to turn on by tracing the various cables behind the furniture.
The chief night clerk refused to follow the maintenance man's advice to simply put me in another room given ongoing television problems at this renovated property, and the poor housekeeping.
It took a second TV breakdown to convince the clerk to move me over one room.
In total, it was close to an hour to get a clean room with a working television.
This property is actually two hotels under one name -- part of it is two-star and another three-star.

Room Tip: Demand to see the room first, no matter what the location. Check the television controls.

Not worth the price (250 for a double room) per
night. Most B&B's in town will offer better value for less

We are certainly most concerned to learn that you felt the value did not meet your expectations. Regarding our room rates, we strongly feel that our rates accurately reflect the type of accommodation, amenities and quality we offer in our market area, but we thank you for your comments.

This is a renovated motel with a great location across from a beach. It has its own secluded pool with cabana bar, a dining room, an outdoor firepit, a shaded seating area. and entertainment in the evening. The pool tends to be crowded since town residents have open access to the area, and smoking is allowed, which can make it uncomfortable. The food in the dining room is better than average and the staff is extremely accommodating.

Room Tip: beachfront rooms are the most convenient and come with a view

Stayed here last week and had it was delightful! The location on the bay side is great. Loved watching the tides go in and out. The staff is super pleasant and helpful, especially Peter at the front desk. I don't think he ever went home! Loved him! Would definitely stay here again and again.

This, by far, has been one of my best hotel experiences. It is not luxury, by any means, but if you are looking for a friendly, clean, and comfortable place to stay, this is it. The front desk was, by far, one of the most helpful and friendliest I have ever experienced, particularly Chris. We had lots of questions and some of them had obvious answers yet we never felt we were annoying them. The rooms were clean though the cement floors took a few minutes to get used to and the bathtub took a while to drain. Those are my only concerns though. The beds/pillows were super comfy and I got a great night's sleep. Shower pressure was good, water was always hot. We borrowed bikes to go into town - the complimentary bikes are an awesome service. Breakfast was small - cereal, yogurt, fruit, toaster goodies - but enough to fill me up for a little bit. The fire pit was fun in the evening. So many people have mentioned the bathrooms in their reviews - ours was updated and clean. We would stay here again in a heartbeat...just an overall, excellent experience and the staff made all the difference, from the front desk to the cabana by the pool. It's a little bit far from town but with the $2.00 shuttle bus or the complimentary bikes, the location isn't such a bad thing. Highly recommend.
