This place is definitely overrated but popular??? Don’t think people know? There are several things that make a finer dining experience other than food! The wine list is deslectic but no one cares? My last experience was a $300 lunch for top producers. Was put in the rear room with tons of high chairs and small personalitied waiter?

Out of state family wanted to get together for lunch me so I suggested 2 restaurants and they chose Alden.
When we arrived no hostess was at the front so we waited a few minutrs then went to the bar and the waitstaff apologized and told us we could choose our table.
We ordered 2 cape cod salads with lobster, an Italian sandwich and fish and chips.
The minute the food came to the table there was a terrible odor and it was VERY apparent it was the fish and chips entree. The waitstaff and manager apologized and asked if they could bring something else. The bigger issue is what is wrong in the kitchen ... so obvious the fish was bad....why would you want anything else from a kitchen that serves food that has gone bad. The other 3 meals were ok at best. Needless to say it did not make for a pleasant lunch.
Alden Park wants to be known as at least somewhat of an upscale clean responsible restaurant which requires a competent kitchen and management.staff. I would strongly suggest they train their staff on quality control and fire staff who prepare food any reasonable person knows should be thrown out not served to customers who may very well become quite ill.

Taking the grandparents out to eat we were looking for someplace that would satisfy both my vegetarian son and carnivorous husband.
The hostess sat us at high top tables that were pushed together in one of the noisiest spots in the restaurant. Not the best spot for elderly people with hearing aids. They had the quiet dining areas shut off.
Service was ok, but the wait staff did not seem happy to be there and struggled to get the right drinks to the right people. ($10 for a glass of cheap rose). The herbed bread they served had so much rosemary and sage in it that it tasted like Thanksgiving stuffing gone wrong.
We ordered an assortment of dishes and when they brought them out after a very long wait they certainly looked good.
Maple salmon had no maple flavor.
Steak frites and burger were so charred, the char flavor overpowered anything else.
Vegetable risotto, should be creamy, but was a solid mass that you could mold to shapes.
Stuffed meatloaf was just weird flavors.
$180 dollars later, we realized we should have gone to Issac's or Katies Burger bar. We would have had better food, better service and saved some $$$.

Although this is my third or fourth visit this time was the Best! Our server was Shasha and she was super! The food was great as usual but she made the visit so much more enjoyable than our previous visits. We travel from NH several times a year and this place never disappoints! Steak and cheese was to die for! Good beer and cocktail selection too! Highly recommend this place and hope you enjoy as much as we do

Stopped by Alden Park for lunch to use a gift card we received and were we pleasantly surprised. The lunch menu was very affordable and has a lot of choices. The sandwiches ( wraps too) are huge and delicious and come with a choice of a side. The fries are great as is the side Caesar Salad- they also have side salad, homemade chips, and coleslaw. We had the Italian Sandwich and Chicken Salad wrap and both were delicious and loaded with filling. The Italian sandwich’s roll was toasted, had a good portion of Italian cold cuts, and garnishes. The Chicken Salad wrap was also delicious. The sandwiches were big enough that you could take half home for another meal. The table next to us had a lobster roll and you could have a nice meal with just the lobster meat. The dinner menu is a little pricey, but I am pretty sure it must be worth it if the meals are anything like their lunches. The restaurant is nicely decorated, very clean, and has great service- (Olivia). We will definitely return to Alden Park.
