I visited Owston Hall for a very special family 30th birthday. On arrival I was impressed with the building, very warm and welcoming, typical old Country house. The bar and waiting staff were helpful and polite, seating areas were comfortable and there were plenty of people around to make a good atmosphere. However, when we sat down to our meal (pre booked and in a private room ) the disappointment started. The portions were tiny, and I mean tiny ! I was given a slice of pate no bigger than my finger, two sprigs of greenery and two French toasts. Main course was a piece of gammon, a scoop of mashed potatoes and 8 green beans, plus gravy ! There was no other veg nor sauces offered instead of gravy.
The dessert was delicious, called Dame, it was ice cream, fresh cream and chocolate sauce. We were served coffee / tea at the end of the meal which was good.
All food tasted delicious but no good if your appetite is larger than a sparrow's !

We went on a spa overnight and due to unforeseen circumstances things didn't turn out as expected but with all the great staff especially the young man on reception we all had a wonderful time.Looking forward to our rearranged break in April.Thank you Owston Hall.

Prompt check-in with friendly customer service, fantastic location and period property, variety of rooms best are in the main building, good variety of food served in the main restaurant overlooking the gardens.

Had a business meeting at this lovely hotel. Decided to have some late lunch before we left. Went for their pizza, and what a great pizza it was. Awesome fat cut chips too.

Great venue and lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Very nice property, in a green area. Quiet and relaxing. Tiny room (mine surely) with not working heater in a chilly bathroom. Not the best thing in February. Nice staff and a restaurant with good food, sometimes, and bad food as well... Not very constant.
