Very special island

This was our second visit to this very special island, our first was back in March 2012 & the minute we walked back onto this island we noticed that the management team have made some very interesting improvements, our last visit we stayed in the garden bungalows & we was impressed with them that we stayed in them again but noticed that they have been refurbished to a very high standard, after three nights we inquired about upgrading to the jacuzzi beach villas & we did this, also we was located nearby to our friends, we was stunned to seeing the quality in these villas but either are great rooms,
Because we stayed in both we also dined in both restaurants & I’ve got to say I’m quite a fussy eater & never had a problem finding a nice meal, we went to the Asian wok on two occasions for the teppanyakki & this is absolutely amazing, also the four of us went around to the Hot rock on two occasions & this was also a great experience & gorgeous food,
The waiters around the Dhoni pool was ever so polite & always around to bring drinks,snacks to your sun lounger especially Saeed whom remarkably remembered us from six years earlier.
Unlike our wifes my friend & I are keen divers & with 300& 400 previous dives of experience we thought this was the best dive centre we have ever come across, the team at Eurodivers are absolutely brilliant, we met some beginners & they was outstanding with them & at the same time gave us some time to go off on several dives on our own, what ever we asked the dive team for they seemed to go out of their way & accommodate us even changing the night dive to a different evening & going across the other side of the atoll to find mantas ( cheers).
We was very sad to leave this beautiful very special island.

Do not waste your money at this so horrible resort. The staff are all far away from kindness and friendlyness. Never visit here! I never forget the waiter at buffet restaurant who ordered to my wife to pick up the fork on the floor which was dropped by other person. And not only this but almost all staff are rude and bad manners just except one at the restaurant. Anyway never visit here.

We stayed at the Meeru Island Resort & Spa Jacuzzi Water Villa 5 days and had a fantastic time. The hotel staff were very friendly and the boat transfers went smooth, the boat ride is 60 min. We didn't wait more than 20 min for our speed boat to depart the airport. Upon arrival we were greeted by a group of musicians playing instruments and singing and received a welcome drink. The view from the Water Villas was mesmerizing during the day as well as during the night. We had the Full board package and ate at the buffet restaurant. The food was good maybe the variety could be improved. Mohamed looked after us during the meal times and was always very friendly. Loved our trip, can highly recommend the Meeru Island Resort & Spa and its superb staff. Also enjoyed the complimentary 15 min Back and Neck massage at the Duniye over the Water Spa.

Have just returned from a week in Meeru. The Island is beautiful, and the staff and service exceptional too. Would definitely recommend and would love to return. Great service from everyone but particularly Mathew, Muhassin & Shifaq.

What a poor experience so far for what we were expecting to be a holiday of a lifetime! From the beginning, we were treated poorly from having to wait over 30 minutes for a speed boat in a non air conditioned waiting room and then, when the boat finally arrived, we were shoved on the bottom floor with no view of the sea and where all the workers were seated! Finally, we arrived at Meeru island, after taking in all the engine fuels from the bottom deck expecting our experience to get better-then we saw our room. A garden room with a private balcony they said-but room 809 is anything but that. We have a tiny, dark room where no sunlight reaches, ants crawling around the bathroom, dirty towels and to top it all off, we have to share our ‘private’ balcony with 3 other rooms! We had to wait 20 minutes before our luggage arrived to our dark room before we could enjoy some sunshine. After a long journey, all we wanted to do was enjoy a lovely meal in a cool room-but even then we were left disappointed. As we approached the reception part of the dining room, we were told that we had no allocated table and that we would have to have our meal outside in the heat and with very limited lighting! However, the food was of good quality of what we could see in limited lighting. The hotel also boasts free WiFi in rooms and public areas but this is a lie! Every time you lock your phone, it kicks you out of the WiFi and expects you to put all your login details again (if you are lucky). If you are unlucky, it just tells you that the user volume is too high and it can’t log you in-what a joke! Meeru-don’t advertise things that you can’t follow through with! For a 4 star experience that we were expecting, we have been given a 2-3 star experience so far! I I would say the rooms is equivalent to a Travel Lodge back home but with better weather. We paid for 4 star experience but this is more like 2 or 3 star in modern Europe. Truly disappointed customers :(

Holiday of a lifetime. Restful relaxing came home totally chilled. Food: plenty of choice with fresh cooking stations e.g..eggs and sometimes pancakes or waffles in the morning evening was meat on skewers or stir fry with u choosing the ingredients. Service was excellent we were in the adult Maalan restaurant our waiter was Wheed you have the same guy same seating area not necessarily the same table. Saeed in the Dhoni bar was a really good guy served drinks with a smile and knowledge of the Maldives and a good sense of humour. Beaches and pathways always clean and the gardeners happy in their work so if you have a dollar spare in your pocket watch their smile turn into a big beaming one they are so grateful and work just as hard as front of house serving staff same goes for the restroom cleaners. Our garden room was very central clean and spacious we were not disappointed in these rooms as the beach was a 5 min walk in either direction. Overall our holiday was breathtaking and will definitely be back one day. Thanks Meeru
