Suzanne Lombardi is doing wonderful things over at The Plate. There are two locations, a tiny shop with outdoor seating in the Central Ave neighborhood, and a larger location in the Fruit Center in East Milton Square. But offer warm soups, nice sandwiches, daily bakery choices and the best breakfast sandwich for those who hate egs! (a homemade biscuit with ham, sharp cheddar, and jalapeño jelly--yum!)

Delicious, freshly made while you wait sandwiches. Try the prosciutto, mozzarella sandwich or the falafel. They are prepared with care and served to go or to stay. You can eat indoors at the counter or al fresco at the bistro tables. The basil lemonade was refreshing and flavorful. This is a small restaurant with a big impact. You will eat healthfully. Enjoy a fresh lunch to go.

Two locations: one in Milton Lower Mills, on Central Ave, the other in East Milton in the Fruit Center shopping area on Granite Ave.

The food is gourmet-level, though both places look unassuming. All sandwiches can be made as salads. The chicken salad is wonderful, as is the tomato soup. Come early to get "chubs," little cinnamon sugar cylinders of dough. Yum! They go fast.

At the Granite Ave location, you can get a plate for about $10 with a selection of meats, salads, etc. It's a popular option.

I go to both locations as often as I can!

I love this little restaurant, they have a wide variety of baked goods as well as breakfast and lunch sandwiches. In the nice weather you can sit outside and enjoy your meal. The staff is super friendly. The coffee wasn't the best so if your looking for a good cup I would go elsewhere.
