Stayed here over July 4th - every other place in the area had a 3-day minimum. Staff was shifty and very foreign. Room was outdated, bed was like a sponge with metal bars embedded in it. TV was a 18" from 1989. Water pressure was next to zero. BUT, it was remarkibly clean given the run down look of the place. The ice maker worked remarkibly well also. Stay here as a last resort or if you get a super cheap rate unlike I did.

This motel has all the basics, including a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. However, we felt trapped because the windows don't open and the fan doesn't give much ventilation. The weather was beautiful and only about 80 degrees for the high, but we had to use the air conditioning to keep from roasting in our room. The room-darkening drapes are nice if you want to sleep during daylight hours, but they make the room unbearably gloomy and if you open them you have zero privacy. The corridors are covered in worn, torn, dingy gray indoor/outdoor carpet. The carpet in the room was also very worn. However, everything was clean and the staff were friendly. The free continental breakfast is not bad; you can make your own fresh waffles and there's a reasonable selection of rolls, cereal, and juice.

Unfortunately when you want a place to stay near Tanglewood on nights with a big-name concert (e.g., James Taylor), you have to pay a lot even for a very basic room. However, we did get to meet a few of the backup singers because they were housed here!

This hotel is a throwback to the old days of motor lodges next to the highways, with sterile rooms, lacking upscale amenities, insufficient electrical outlets, nonexistent wireless internet (despite claims to the contrary) and a lack of ambiance. The pros: a quiet pool area, centrally located within the L shaped motel space, eager to please family proprietors, and availability, albeit at a steep price, at a time when when most better accommodations in the area were sold out, i.e. July 4th weekend. It was painful indeed to pay $225/per night for such a faded, basic motel simply because all of the better places were full. Moral: when the reviews are as mixed as those posted here, there is a good reason.

Room Tip: Better economy reserving directly with the hotel

The people there were friendly and polite. They showed us places and things to do around town since we were on vacation. Great stay
