“Can't wait to return”

My family and I have traveled to the Jonathan Foote 1778 House many times. We are always impressed with the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. When each guest arrives they are always greeted by Joanne and Bruce, the innkeepers, Joanne is always quick to remind us that fresh baked cookies are awaiting our arrival. The rooms are always very comfortable and I think we sleep better than we do at home. Joanne is always happy to help with any question about Lee or the surrounding town(s). We always look forward to the wonderful breakfast served everyday. If the weather is cooperative you may get to sit outside and enjoy your breakfast surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees. Joanne and Bruce are always kind, cordial and want to do their very best to insure all their guests are comfortable. I would give this Inn and its Innkeepers the highest ratings possible.

This review is a long time coming for which I apologize.

We stayed last month at the inn at the end of August for 3 nights. I believe this was our 3rd or 4th stay but first in a couple of years. The inn has 5 guests rooms, This trip we stayed in the Jonathan Foote suite, a 2 bedroom suite with a shared bath. We gave our daughter and soin-in-law the larger room with TV while we stayed in the smaller one. We love the room because with the age of the inn the room actually slants a little, but you can feel the history with not only this but the low ceilings and woodwork.

JoAnnand Bruce are wonderful hosts. They provide a fantastic breakfast in the morning, usually served outside on the patio if the weather is good, though with the overhead roof it is also very comfortable in the rain. As it gets cooler breakfast is served in the main dining room. All the breakfasts are from strach and are wonderful, you can barely finish and you are ready to start your day. There is also a sitting room with a very large firelplace, a perfect place to read the morning papaers or a book.

The inn is well situated close to the outlet mall, Tanglewood, downtown Lenox, and with all the nearby sights. We played golf nearby, ate at a local french restaurant, while going to Tanglewood another. All very convenient.

I can't say enough about the place other than it is ideal for a great getaway to the Berkshires. We've been in fall and summer and are now looking forward to returning in winter just after Christmas to see a little snow on the ground and the fire roaring in the fireplace.

Enjoy.

From being greeted by "Ceildh" the retriever to JoAnn's complimentary cookies, this is a real find in a wonderful area of Massachusetts. The House is a historical treasure and the Innkeepers, JoAnn & Bruce will make you so welcome you will not want to leave.

Lee is a suoer town with good restaurants, easy access to all the charms of The Berkshires and has the benefit of Outlet Shopping on it's doorstep.

great furniture, atmosphere and ambience-big old beds and really helpful and friendly innkeepers. A bit pricey and the breakfasts (referred to as hearty in the Lonely Planet) were a on the light side but tasty and good quality. Free chocies for the children and amazing complementary brandy!

This was our very first B&B experience, so we were a little uncertain about what to expect. The Inn was wonderful and the innkeepers were very attentive to our needs. We stayed in the "Tavern Room" which had its own separate entrance. The setting was beautiful and everything was clean and neat. We had dinner two nights in very good restaurants in historic Lee, MA, and had the opportunity to travel around scenic western Mass.

We want to come back soon!
