This small hotel is the perfect quiet getaway for those looking to be close to Boston and Cape Cod without all the crowds. The ocean is a 30 second walk from the hotel and a close walk to restaurants. The room was clean and simple and the beds were comfortable. The staff makes the place great with their genuine concern for your happiness. They offer beach towels and beach chairs.

This hotel is a gem! The room was spacious and had all new finishes. Everything was very clean, and was appointed with everything we needed. Meg at the front desk was also very nice. If we’re ever back in the area we will stay here again!

This is a small, quiet hotel directly across the street from the beach and within walking distance to several restaurants. The rooms were clean and tastefully appointed. They were very accommodating allowing us to park our car there before check in. The price was very reasonable as well. You can purchase snacks and drinks there and they have beach chairs to rent. My only concern was we asked for rooms next to each other and when we arrived were told they were but then someone else arriving let themselves into the wrong room without them knowing??? How did they get in?

We were really excited to stay here overnight on our way through the area. Super cute from the photos and close to a beach. Comfy beds and had a sink, mini fridge and microwave.
Upon arrival my husband went into the office to check us in and was told that the person’s name that was on the card for the reservation had to check in, even though it was his name on the reservation. And even asked if he could just switch cards and was adamantly told no and to get me and he wait outside...Bad vibes already.
I went into the office and was asked for my i.d. and card. She then handed me a paper to sign stating a bunch of extra fees that will be charged if so and so happens, including a $45 PER PET fee (which was not stated on the site i booked on). I continued reading the form and saw that i was NOT ALLOWED TO WALK THE DOGS ON THE PROPERTY and was told to CROSS THE HWY to do so. WTF. I was pretty livid at this point. Also not allowed to leave the pets in the room (even crated) and management is allowed to enter the room and remove pets and have them kenneled/boarded (at owners expense) if they’re noisy.
Overall comfortable and clean place to stay but NOT pet friendly even though they allow you to bring them for an outrageous fee.

Jon Saunders, Owner at Nantasket Beach Hotel, responded to this reviewResponded 6 December 2020

Hi Ashely - My name is Jon and I'm the owner of the Hotel. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay. We take these reviews very seriously. Just to quickly address some of your comments:

1) We believe pets are members of your family, and therefore we have several guest rooms set aside for small dogs. A $45 per night pet fee is required as these rooms are refurbished quite frequently. Great strides to improve the overall guest experience have been made. We have added premium bedding, laid durable new carpet, remodeled the bathrooms, and are adding a fresh coat of paint. As I'm sure you're aware, dogs can cause damage to property and carpet. While your dog may be perfect, not all are. Therefore we need to collect the $45 per night fee in order to continue to be the only hotel in the area to welcome dogs...

2) The pet fee is crearly stated on our website and we do our best to make that clear on the various online travel agencies. Unfortunately we can't control the exact wording on their sites. We always encourage guests to book direct for the best rate.

3) We do ask guests to walk their dogs off property. The majority of guests do not have dogs and it would be unfair to them to see your dog going to the bathroom right outside their room...We are not a hotel located on a dog park

4) Unfortunately, we have had guests book a room with a stolen credit card. Therefore we always ask that the person checking in provide a government ID and credit card. If they are incapable of doing so, we do ask for the person who booked the room to provide authorization that their card may be used. Our credit card company actually requires it. We've had a considerable number of chargebacks and incurr a $50 fee everytime that happens. This policy is clearly stated on ouir website.

5) I truly apologize if you felt the person at the front desk was rude to you in any way. We will address that immediately.

6) If a pet is left in the room it could bark and bother other guests. Again, your dog may be perfect, but not all are...

Thanks again for taking the time to review the Nantasket Beach Hotel. Be well.
