We came for breakfast after staying at the Hampton Inn in Hadley. This café is very charming and the food is really good. He sat outside and after a few minutes it started to rain "cats and dogs"!

I had a maple latte and my wife had regular coffee and both were very good.

We share the pancake special which was apple and cheddar and caramel.

We also ordered a side of fresh berries which were blueberries and strawberries.

We are definitely going to make this our go to breakfast place whenever we come to North Hampton / Hadley area!

I absolutely love this place. It is so charming and lovely. They have a lovely garden area out back and a cute terrace area. The food and coffee variety is excellent. This hidden gem is a must do!

Wonderful cafe with amazing bakery and dining options. A great find. Best of all, a number of tasty options could be made gluten free (gf). We enjoyed burgers with caramelized onions and relish on a locally made gluten free bread, gluten free fries (made in a dedicated fryer), and a grilled turkey sandwich with cranberries, thinly sliced apples, and melted cheese on multi-grain bread (non-gf, but could be made so). Downright yummy. Setting is charming as well, with both indoor and outdoor space available. Service was fairly speedy considering the line at the door never died the entire time we were there. (This is a place where you place your order, find a table and your food is brought to you.) Wish I was local!

Esselon is located in the heart of Pioneer Valley farmland and so one can get all local produce, including its own farm veggies. Many great coffee varieties roasted on site. Experienced barristers. Great pastries from one local bakery in Northampton. Very interesting selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes. They already have some but I would love to see some more choices for vegetarian and vegan food. Finally, there is a splendid patio, open whole year, and a lovely well maintained garden to enjoy "manger dehors". If you are driving between Amherst and Northampton plan to stop there and relax.

Type of coffee beans & in house roasting produce the best coffees! Nice lunch selections too. An add on is the vintage decor with a nice terrace overlooking flowery backyard. Its worth visiting.
