This is a slightly older hotel. I was on the top floor, no elevator, but incredible views of Long Beach and amazing sunrises. The rooms were just fair, though clean. Wireless internet worked. The balconies were all interconnected--one long balcony running the length of the building. A bit unnerving if you wanted privacy, and disturbing for the amount of cigarette smoke that invaded the room. There was quite a bit of noise coming from the other rooms, as insulation was not very good. They had coffee, muffins and donuts for breakfast in the lobby. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I found Gloucester itself a bit difficult to navigate with its one-way streets and curvy layout. Overall, though, it was fine for a short stay.

Room Tip: Get an end unit. Smaller but quieter.

This was a nice place to stay. It's an older place. It's not a luxury resort. But if you want to get away from it all, and you want to bring your dog, it's a good place to go. There is no boardwalk there. I really liked it. You walk out of the hotel and you are right on the ocean beach. I would go again.

Where else can you walk through a door and have a view of the ocean without spending extra money for 'ocean view'. Just lovely. Room is comfortable; bed; couch, table and chairs. Sliding door opens for balcony with outside seating. Breakfast is included; coffee; tea and/or orange juice; muffins or donuts.

Room Tip: all rooms face the ocean

Met my family here for a weekend gathering. The Inn is a small (40 rooms+/-), seems like a family run business. All of the employees that I happened across, were very friendly and helpful. The Rooms were clean and comfortable. If you're looking for Marriott type rooms, stay at a chain hotel. The lack of a/c isn't a problem. The constant breeze was wonderful, and listening to the waves break on shore lulled me to sleep in no time! Which brings me to the best part of this place. It's amazing location!!! Sitting on the end of Long Beach, looking east over the entire beach, out over Thacher Island and its twin lighthouses, and on to the Atlantic. Every room has an unbelievable view, and the sunrise can be ABSOLUTELY incredible!
All of our party will, with out question, return to the Cape Ann Motor Inn any time we're in the area!!!

Had a terrific time with family. Right on the beach!! No better place in Cape Ann. Beautiful breezes made air-conditioning unnecessary. Dog friendly for those of you who would like to bring your loveable pets. Kayaking, boogie-boarding, tubing, surfing, bonfires at night. There were even fireworks while we were there. What beautiful, breath-taking sunsets and sun rises. Never saw any that were more beautiful. The management and help were great! So helpful and friendly. The room was always kept clean and tidy. Plenty of fresh towels whenever you needed them. We all had a great time!! Can't wait to go back!!
