Seek and ye shall find. Look beyond the sailboats and sunsets paintings and you can find some first rate art in Gloucester.

Rocky Neck is a most unique location. Smith Cove is filled with small boats and the views across the cove are charming. There are several excellen restaurant's in season -- The Rudder, Mad Fish Grill, and Studio. One can get breakfast at Sailor Stans. There are of course many shops and art galleries, and at the end of the necy one fionds the Gloucester MArine Railway, and don't miss seeing the Schooner Adventure (the last of the city's once great schooner fleet).

Rocky Neck Art Colony is a lovely place to visit with an eclectic mix of shops both artistic and antique - some quite whimsical. We spent a couple of wonderful afternoons at the quay side restaurant sipping exotic drinks and eating very tasty, well preapred food. This is a visit not to be missed.

Off the beaten path but so great. Find a place to park and just walk around, great to eat outside on summer day, visit the art studies, walk down to the ship repair shops and take the water taxi around the harbor. It's a unique and very New England experience.
