Tried calling hotel to inquire about reservations but hotel phones were not working. Emailed inquiry but no answer. Went to hotel and front desk person was on his computer and would not acknowledge me. Finally ask him if he could answer a few questions. Did not answer, so I proceeded to ask if they had elevators. Answer was " not in our standard rooms. I said I was looking for a suite on third or fourth level. He said yes that's where the elevators were as if I was suppose to know. Then asked about parking, said I would have to walk several blocks. I mentioned that the website said the following:
Does the Vineyard Square Hotel & Suites have parking?
Yes. However, the spaces are limited and must be reserved in advance. There also is free parking at the edge of town, which is serviced by a free shuttle that drops you 1 block from our Edgartown hotel. Due to the expense involved and our convenient location, many visitors (especially those on shorter trips) prefer to leave their car behind and use public transportation and bicycles to get around Martha’s Vineyard..
He said he did'nt know about that. Ask for a manager who said he would be right with me, waited for several minutes and decided to leave. Manager came outside and ask if he could help. Repeated parking question and he replied that the website did not say anything about reserved parking. I said I looked at it before I came over and he replied " this is probably not the hotel for you. Wife and I are over 70 and stairs and parking are important. Would not recommend to elderly folks.

Thank you for stopping by to inquire about future accommodations at the Vineyard Square. Our staff takes the experience of every visitor who walks through our doors very seriously and we thank you for sharing your concerns with us. While we love our convenient and central location here in downtown Edgartown, it does come with sacrifices related to parking. As mentioned on our web site, we have a nearby parking lot with room for 20 cars, as well as a free town parking lot serviced by the shuttle. Although located close by, neither are directly adjacent to our hotel. We understand that this can be frustrating and apologize for not being able to accommodate you in this matter.

Reception closed evening and night. No breakfast in hotel, sent to low end diner. The receptionist did not inform about this until asked when breakfast was served. Noisy as we were disturbed by other guest playing loud music in the middle of the night. Hotel should have informed that the hotel was almost closed down so guests had a chance to change hotel. Room ok with nice view of harbour.

Kristin, thank you for sharing your experience with us and we apologize for any inconvenience during your stay. We welcome every comment and view them as an opportunity to fine tune our operation to provide greater levels of guest service and satisfaction.

To address your concerns specifically, we do slow our reception desk coverage to match the pace of the off season. We try to make up for this by personally reaching out to each guest prior to arrival, so I’m sorry that our email to that effect was apparently not received. Also, we apologize about the noise problem - please keep in mind that a team member is always on call and immediately available on a 24-hour basis using the phone numbers posted at the front desk and hotel entry doors. Our continental breakfast runs in-season starting May 1 - if you'd like more dates and details, they are listed on our website, www.vineyardsquarehotel.com. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed your view of the harbor and we hope you had an enjoyable time here in Edgartown overall. Thanks again!

Cozy accommodations, perfect location. Everything we were looking for in an Edgartown inn. Best part was the warm and friendly front desk staff. They truly made us feel welcome, even on one of their busiest weekends. Great value for this popular location.

Our second stay at Vineyard Square was during Thanksgiving and this is the perfect place to stay in Martha's Vineyard; it is close to all of the shops and restaurants in Edgartown and yet it is quiet and peaceful inside the inn. The inn has 28 hotel rooms which are closed in the late fall and 6 one and two-bedroom owners suites which remain open. The suites are wonderful and I highly recommend them. Each suite has one or two bedrooms, a fully equipped wetbar with fridge and dishwasher, livingroom with gas fireplace and a balcony with beautiful views of Edgartown Harbor.

The service was exceptional. Although we arrived in the morning, Audrey, the hostess, sent a text to us to let us know our suite was ready early. She also had a nice bottle of wine waiting for us in our suite later in the day. Wes, the manager, was also very friendly and welcoming.

Although the inn does not serve any breakfast in the off-season, the Espresso Love Cafe is just a two-block walk away and serves many home-made breakfast items.

We are looking forward to return visit to Vineyard Square!

Room tip: Book the suites. The higher the floor level, the better the view

Hi Nancy!

We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed another stay at Vineyard Square, especially during the Thanksgiving holiday! We really appreciate your positive feedback regarding our service. While our ovens are off, we’re always happy to point you to our favorite eateries — we’re glad you enjoyed Espresso Love! We couldn’t agree more about our location. It’s great to be so close to town and still find peace and quiet when you need it. We’re so looking forward to seeing you again!

This was such a wonderful time of year to go. The regular hustle and bustle of the busy tourist season was done and the weather was absolutely perfect! Staying in Edgartown proved lovely, not only from a beautiful scenic perspective but because it was in the middle of everything we wanted to explore. Taking the buses was not only an adventure, but incredibly convenient so that we didn't need a car and they were always on point with scheduled times. The hotel was quaint and the staff were so accommodating! They were there to make sure your stay was the best and indeed it was. Super friendly, easily approachable and always there if you had questions! The. Uses were just around the corner and you were literally near all the shops and restaurants you could want.

You and the girls planned your Edgartown visit perfectly! While we love the bustle of the summer crowds, this break between the summer and holidays is the perfect time to take a deep breathe and just relax. It also looks like you’ve discovered a local secret — the bus is a great way to get to points farther than Edgartown Lighthouse. We hope you and the girls had a great getaway, and we can’t wait to see you again!
