Great place to take your bikes and ride for the day, pack a lunch and explore. It is fun just to see, we went on a very hot day, so make sure you take a lot of water with you. There is a lot of history there and the gardens are beautiful.

If you would like to get away from the crowds and experience something completely different from Edgartown, rent a bike and take the 2 minute ferry over to Chappaquiddick and ride its country roads. It's absolutely lovely and enchanting. Rent one with wider tires so you can navigate the few sandy roads to the empty beaches. Beautiful and not touristy like Martha's Vineyard. A nice change in atmosphere! Bring water and pack some snacks in case you'll be longer than expected like we were.

Excellent tour. There are several tour options offered, we did the 1.5 hour tour. They take you out in a large truck which can go on the beach and see various remote locations on Chappy. Very knowledgeable tour guide. Nice tour of light house.

They also offer (but we didn't do) a longer 2.5? hour tour, and also a kayaking tour. Those also looked good but given the kids we went with the 1.5 hour tour and were quite happy with it.

Somewhat funny name for this organization but they do a great job.

Based on an earlier review I decided to also do the Trustees of Reservations Tour - Natural History. It was great. I really enjoyed the tour - it was an amazing way to see the Island, the beaches were very beautiful and not as crowded as on the vineyard. Very peaceful and serene - a definite place to visit if you are interested in some real quiet time. The tour provided a great way to explore the island. The tour guide was extremely knowledgable and passionate about the Island and it's history.

MV has many amazing public properties accessible if you are in the know. The Land Bank maps give you the inside track and can be searched on the web. Small markers along the road are worth a stop for walks in the cooling woods or to find amazing views and even some water access. Trustees of the Reservations have some real gems of properties and are manned by folks who want you to enjoy what they love. Just on Chappaquiddick in June 2011 loved biking to the properties and found Pat at Mytoi so helpful. The Cape Pogue lighthouse tour is not to be missed... you've probably seen nothing like the terrain on this tour.
