Scargo Manor Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #5 of 15 Dennis B&B and Inns
Reviewed 2 September 2016

Combining a business trip with some much needed leisure time, we chose Scargo Manor B&B. What a wonderful B&B. The former home of Captain Howe the home is beautifully maintained, woodwork is detailed and the rooms are beautiful. We stayed in the Captain's room which has a spacious sitting room, 4 post bed in the bedroom (comfy bed!!) and a very large bathroom.

Our hostess, Ann, provided ideas every day, a scrumptious breakfast. Her pleasant demeanor starts each day off with energy and fun!

Room Tip: Captain's Room a good choice!

Scargo Manor is in an ideal location for bay side beaches, excellent restaurants, shopping and antiquing. Or, just stay on the property and enjoy Scargo Lake. Don't miss the view from Scargo Tower across from the Manor. The inn has a paddle boat, canoe, kayaks and floats. The innkeepers could not have been more accommodating in providing suggestions for dinner, offering ice and water for coolers, providing excellent breakfasts (don't skip the muffins or banana bread) or just friendly banter. Our quiet room had A/C, a walk-in closet, a mini-fridge and bath essentials including a hair dryer. This was a perfectly, relaxing summer escape.

Room Tip: Our room was a perfect option for someone who did not want a lot of stairs.

We stayed at Scargo Manor for 2 nights in July to celebrate our belated anniversary. First time away from kids in 15 years! This Inn was beautiful - inside and out. Our room was lovely - comfy and clean. Shared fridge on the third floor stocked with cold waters. Beautiful porch and common rooms to sit and relax. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The lake - a private paradise. We rode the paddle boards and kayaked and felt like we were the only 2 people on the planet. It was just perfect. Ann and Roy were lovely hosts, friendly and helpful. Ann always with a smile on her face. Be sure to walk to Corporations Beach for the sunset. And of course the Ice Cream Smuggler. I can't wait to go back - and would never stay anywhere else on the Cape. Thank you Ann and Roy!

Room Tip: Hydrangea Room on the 3rd floor was beautiful - quiet with a view of the lake. Great room!

We had an amazing stay at Scargo Manor! It truly felt like we were visiting family. Ann and Roy are incredibly friendly and an absolute pleasure to stay with. We highly recommend the "Captain's Room" which includes quite possibly the biggest and most comfortable bed. Ever.

The backyard and lake are gorgeous. And if that scene gets old (which it wont!), there are plenty of beaches nearby. We went to Mayflower (less than 2 miles); however, there are closer beaches (Corporation, I believe).

Best Restaurant - Scargo Cafe (5 minute walk)

Best Ice Cream - The Ice Cream Smuggler (5 minute walk)

Beset Breakfast - SCARGO MANOR! (0 minute walk)

The biggest problem we had with Scargo Manor was that we found it hard to leave the premises)....and it was even harder to say goodbye at the end of our stay :(

We highly recommend Scargo Manor for anyone looking for an amazing weekend on the cape. A truly great value.

Room Tip: The Captains Room

We took over the Manor and Ann couldn't have been more welcoming. The family came from Hawaii and California. First visit to the Cape for most. The manor had everything to offer for our family, ages 1 to 74! There were water crafts, a huge lawn for volleyball and soccer and a wonderful fire pit for evening relaxing and toasting s'mores. The lake was warm and we had a race using the manors canoe, kayaks and peddle boat. So much fun.
Ann told us ahead of time we did not have access to the kitchen but who wants to cook on vacation. Catered in a clam bake from Swan River Fish Market that was perfect.
The breakfast Ann cooked each morning was terrific. She even asked if we had any special requests.
The family agreed we'd return to Scargo Manor for another reunion. Thanks Ann!!!!

Room Tip: The suites are great for families w/ children. All second room floors have mini refrig.
