We had a pleasant evening here, and found the service outstanding. The food was average but it was a pleasant evening nonetheless.

Called for a reservation during off hours; received a confirmation early the next day---off to a good start. The 4th person in our party was delayed, but we were asked if we wanted anything while waiting. Two wines were delivered and we conversed until our 4th showed. Waitresses were watchful until he arrived and then became attentive to our order. Started off with the mussels with chorizo and tomatoes---deliciously sweet and tender, and the French onion soup which was good, but seemed to lack a distinct flavor. Three of the four entrees were outstanding--the chicken dish and scallop dish off the menu, and the grilled tuna special. The pasta Bolognese was good, but the rigatoni proved too much pasta (read starch) and left not much sauce. We passed on dessert. Glad we revisited this restaurant as we hadn't been in years. Other than the noted comments, we very much enjoyed our evening.

Top notch service, great main courses. We had the scallops and the duck breast. The scallops came with truffled whipped potatoes and they had no problem with serving just plain whipped potatoes. My dining companion said that the scallops were very good but lacked a bit in scallop flavor. The duck was very good and the kitchen was very good in removing most of the duck fat (not an easy thing to do). Request was for medium and most pieces were medium and when they slipped it was on the less done side (though I would have preferred the slip to be the other way). Veggies were nice and crispy, the bacon & butternut risotto was a bit too cheesy for my taste and perhaps the total meal was a bit heavy, think I would have combined the duck with a less fat filled side dish. We split the lemon tart for dessert - just right, nice flavor, nice crust. Wine by the glass was nicely priced and a nice pour. Only 2 negatives: 1) the decaf coffee smelled burnt and had a less than stellar flavor and 2) NOISY. But all in all, will be back and damn near excellent.

Place is very small but the food is very good! Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly and the Scallop dish was excellent - 8 tender scallops with mashed potatoes, asparagus and a carrot as shown in their photo. Can't wait to return to try their pork chop!

My husband and I ate a delicious, high quality meal at 9 Elm. The server was a great lady- helpful and attentive. She gave us bread with olive oil and garlic. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft and airy on inside.I ordered the pan seared halibut in lemon blanc sauce with Parmesan risotto and asparagus.(this was a special on the board) The portion was generous and scrumptious. My husband ordered the duck. He said it was the best he ever had. We ordered the mussels for an appetizer. They were good. We both ordered the vanilla bean creme brûlée for dessert. It was room temp and incredibly delicious. The cappuccino was not good. It was too frothy. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is on the pricier side- the high quality food and service is worth it!
