We invested many hours driving to Cape Cod and were fortunate to find a beautiful respite at The Chatham Bars Inn where we were able to enjoy the magnificent vistas of the shore. The resort was a worthwhile splurge in all respects.
When we were disappointed in our original accommodations, Reservation manager Elizabeth Kennedy worked hard to find a solution. Then she made sure we had ample suggestions for touring, dining and historical perspectives. Bravo!
We ended up in a room in the main inn with a very large balcony overlooking the hotel's shore front location. The seals, sand bars, work boats and endless vistas were spectacular. While the hotel is quite large with many cottages, there is ample room.
Many families were here with children and the pool was too hectic for a couple seeking peace. Their complimentary launch to the sandbars was tailor made for us. No reservation, no cost, just amble down to the little pier and the captain was on duty ferrying people from 10 am to 4 pm. We walked miles on the sandbar looking at both bay and ocean.
Booking tip. If you go with Amex Platinum , they had a great perk of including the hotel's expansive buffet breakfast.More
