“Amazing service! Visit North Beach if you go!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2012

This was our fourth time visiting CBI and our favorite. When you combine the location, staff and their level of service it's hard to go wrong. We spent time bouncing between the pool, the bar grill, north beach and various family activities most of the week. My son had an amazing time playing capture the flag, soccer and whiffle ball while my daughter enjoyed swimming at the pool and hanging out with mom all week. The one thing I noticed a vast improvement on was the service though. From the smiling hostesses to the attentive waiters we felt completely relaxed.
I travel ALOT and I will 100% say that whoever cleaned our room each day should get an award (room 416). The first day the kids kinda messed the place up unpacking and the person who cleaned foldd everything and even organized all our stuff that was tossed around. Each day they came and made the room perfect for when we got back and just wanted to say thanks to the CBI staff.

Btw my son said the lobster tour was amazing and talked about going everyday. If you stay here, North Beach is awesome! Private paradise and the kids loved walking in the shallow water picking up starfish etc.

Free rides to Dow town in the CBI Range Rovers was awesome as always.

I love Chatham! I was visiting family on the Cape, and we decided to spend a couple of days at Chatham Bars Inn. We decided on the Beachside Cottage with two bedrooms, two baths, living room, and kitchen. The room was immaculate and perfect for our mini family excursion. The beach was so close, which is essential when you have kids. The pool was wonderful and very relaxing. The children even entered into a cannon ball contest which was so entertaining to watch. We ventured out to walk around the adorable town of Chatham. There are so many adorable shops with fantastic jewelry and beautiful pieces of art.

Our stay was wonderful, and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Cape. The staff is so pleasant, accommodating, and anticipated my every need. I only wish that my trip was a little longer, but I will be returning next summer. I will need to visit the Spa next time.

If you love getting pampered and enjoying the best of what the Cape has to offer, visit the Chatham Bars Inn.

Our first trip to Cape, and really enjoyed the CBI. Stars Restaurant (+5 Stars), Hotel (4 Stars). Stars restaurant was over the top, and our best dining experience during our 3 weeks of east coast vacation. I directed the chef on my desired steak thickness while he cut my filet from the whole loin at the tale prior to grilling. We were invited to a private desert lounge, where our extremeley unique desert creations were prepared in front of us by their sweets chef in the open desert kitchen. The restaurant staff and manager couldnt have been any better. We also loved the breakfast buffet selections, including the custom Lobster omelettes and fresh smoothies. Porch overlooking beach perfect for evening cocktails. Hotel: Great views, pool, and location to town of Chatham shopping. Really enjoyed a 3 hour sail around the bay with family. Boat captain was friendly and very talkative. Can't wait to return!

It was great to return to Chatham Bars Inn this year! Fantastic weather so we got to fully enjoy the amnenties such as the pool, tennis and boat to North Beach! Regarding the restaurants, we had lunch several times plus the BBQ dinner at the Beachhouse Grill and had great friendly service and perfect beach side food! The new Stars steakhouse restaurant was phenomenal with knowledgable staff and amazing food... The quality of the food and wines was the best we've ever had. This is becoming a yearly pilgrimage for us due to its location, staff, amenities and restaurants.

What a find, great atmosphere and classic buildings, well-prepared food but let down by Eastern European staff who speak good English but don't have the service culture inbred into Americans. These guys may be cheap to employ but they will hurt your reputation. Be careful.

, Manager at Chatham Bars Inn Resort and Spa, responded to this review, 16 July 2012
Thank you for your complimentary review of our property, atmosphere and cuisine. Regarding our seasonal staff, please know that affordability of employing international students plays no role in our hiring practices. Chatham Bars Inn hires about 400 seasonal employees each year, many of which on here a work and travel Visa program. I have provided an except from the Boston Globe below, which explains further why many Cape & Island businesses resort to hiring international students:

"Almost 17,000 college students from around the world worked in seasonal jobs in New England last year, and in doing so, have become the latest flashpoint in the battle over foreign workers and American jobs. With the economy still struggling and teen unemployment at record levels, supporters of tougher immigration policies say a State Department program that brings in these foreign students is displacing young Americans in need of work. ... Despite high unemployment, business owners say they still aren’t able to attract enough Americans to work as dishwashers and housekeepers. 'It’s jobs the American students don’t want to take,' said Michael Briggs, resort manager of the Chatham Bars Inn, where up to 175 workers are Asian and Eastern European students. 'We put the ads out there, but we just don’t get any takers.'" - Boston Globe, June 3, 2012.

In the meantime, we continue to train our foreign workers in areas of service, especially front line employees in the Inn and our restaurants so that our patrons in turn receive the same level of world class service they would get from our American workers.

Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you again in the future.
