David and Jessica did a fantastic job this year. Everything looked well cared for and we were treated so well by both of them. It was our 13th visit to The Hawthorne and we are already signed up for next year. We love The Hawthorne!

I don't want to go on and on about every little thing in the place, the room was great, everything seems new and well kept, friendly and helpful management, absolutely nothing to complain about. . A most enjoyable time.

This motel has its own beach, and perched on a slight hill so that everyone has a view of the water. The L shape of the building contributes to that. The property is nicely landscaped, with chairs on the beach. There are also some beach umbrellas. The rooms are generously sized and comfortable; large closet, small bathroom, refrigerator . It has always been family owned and the care is obvious. It is located in Chatham facing the Chatham harbor inlet and the ocean. It is located next to the posh Chatham Bars Inn where there is a beach grill and formal dining room open to the public. There are also many nearby restaurants in and around Chatham center. Note: I do not consider it to be
necessary to be a a "posh" place to have a 4.5 star rating which I would give it.

We needed a room for two days to attend a wedding in Chatham. This was one of the area suggested lodging choices for wedding guests. We had just completed a round trip drive to Florida during which time we rarely paid more than $100 per night for a room as good as we had here or better and often with a full breakfast. This is simply a motel that cost $235/night with mediocre coffee in the lobby and apples. I realize that Cape Cod is an expensive destination but this was over the top pricey for a motel room. It was clean,. There was nothing special about the room which looked out on the front parking lot. I understand a week earlier the place would have been >$300 which would have been totally ludicrous! In retrospect we should have looked for an Air BnB a town or two away and saved some money.

Room Tip: If booking a room here, get one in the back for easier access to the area with lounge chairs that face the water.

The Hawthorne is family owned and you are treated as family from the time you arrive which is so special these days. That is what sets this property apart from all others. The location on the water cannot be beat.

Room Tip: Rooms are quaint and comfortable.
