Wife and I have driven past this place for years, but this was our first visit.
Wife’s first impression was that the wall paper was very old - VERY old. And it was, but that’s part of the charm of this very old Brewster eatery.
We were there on aSunday - a day when many good restaurants are either closed, or don’t open at noon. It wasn’t’ crowded, but we weren’t the only people there.
Wife wanted the daily special but held back because of her shellfish allergy. Instead, she had broiled scrod and pronounced it excellent. I had the special- baked haddock with seafood stuffing and lobster sauce. It was also very good.
The Brewster Inn subtitles itself as a chowder bar, so I had to try a cup. Excellent - possibly the best I’ve ever had. Seriously full of clams, and thick enough without too much flour.
Prices are reasonable.
