I had not been to Sergio's in a couple years, but my dinner this week was like returning to a treasured friend. It's the definition of a trattoria: Simple but delicious food, served by a friendly staff in an intimate, comfortable and relaxed setting.
The food is fresh and made to order, and the specials are particularly good. The advice on what we should order was helpful, and the wait was appropriate for food that is freshly prepared. A house salad was included in the meal, which was the only disappointment (a little too much oil and vinegar). Dessert and the ravioli were outstanding, with a homemade flavor.
Finding the restaurant is a bit tricky, since it's on the lower level of the hotel. Valet parking may be tight, but there is reasonably priced garage parking across the street and a block away. We didn't need reservations, but it's likely be more crowded on a weekend or when a large group is in the hotel.
