The Hambleton Inn is located on the water right in front of The Maritime Museum and is a short walk to many restaurants and stores. The inn is very peaceful and has a pleasant view. We stayed in the Michener Suite on the 3rd floor. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The owners / innkeepers, Sherry and Charles, were very friendly and helpful in recommending local activities, etc. They offer many brochures and maps for the area. They even offer a discount coupon for the Maritime Museum for their guests in addition to a complimentary copy of Michener's book “Chesapeake”. Being book lovers, this certainly warmed our hearts. The breakfasts were relaxed and absolutely delicious! Sherry served a unique french toast recipe that is among the best that I have ever tasted and, for the first time in my life, we had dessert after breakfast. We loved it and plan to recommend The Hambleton to our friends and family.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have a great view. Michener Suite on 3rd floor is best for shorter people who pr...

What a great B&B! Right on the water...steps from town. Sherry and her husband were warm and welcoming and made a fabulous breakfast... The orange juice so sweet and breakfast desert was such a treat! Sherry and port wine available for your tasting whenever you want. We stayed in the Chesapeake room... Just lovely! Be sure to eat at Theo's and get the blackened ribeye and lemon mousse desert.... You won't be disappointed!

For our girly weekend in December, my friend and I chose this Inn for two nights in early December 2011. The Inn was being "babysat" by a friend of the keepers' who were in California and getting in later the next day after our arrival. We had each a queen room overlooking the marina in St. Michael's. Wine, cheese and kinship were shared with our greeter in the evening before dinner at a local restaurant she recommended. We met the Inn keepers the following evening, who were so very gracious and we had two of the best and largest breakfasts ever.
Our visit was relaxing, welcoming, and comforting. We will definitely return there in subsequent visits to the Chesapeake area. Walk to town is easy, biking is available too, and a quiet evening with a glass of wine on the porch looking at the sunset over the marina was just pure delight. Close to Easton if you need to go there as well.

We were a group of women that gathered to celebrate a special birthday. We chose St. Michaels as a perfect spot. The Hambleton Inn was beautiful with the porch overlooking the water, an excellent breakfast, and interesting and very friendly innkeepers. Sherri and Charles were very helpful in assisting us with our planning. I was surprised at some of the older entries on this site.Sherri & Charles have done a lot of work to make the Inn beautiful with modern amenities but it is not a new hotel. It has it's own interesting & historic character and you feel like a welcome guest. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Hambleton Inn last weekend when two of our kids were off with friends. I called ahead of time and they allowed our 2 year old daugther Jill to stay. They were also o.k. with us bringing our Pak n Play. They gave us a room above the kitchen (the Princess Room) where Jill wouldn't be heard by the other guests. It's a very very small bedroom, but has a good sized bath and a nice living room attached. You must be o.k. with the bathroom being yours, but outside the room. Only the owners and one guest passed by once the entire time when we were sitting in the living room. For us it was well worth it. We could put Jill down for her nap in the Pak n Play in the bedroom and we could still hear her while we enjoyed looking out the living room window at the boats and reading books.

It was as decompressing as a vacation can be with a 2 year old. :)

There was a little park nearby where we could take Jill. Sherry (the owner) and her husband Charles kept a bag of frozen bread crumbs in the freezer for anyone who wanted to feed the ducks. We would walk to the Crab Claw every morning and feed the ducks. Jill loved it and we loved watching her enjoy herself. One morning the ducks came up to the water that touches the backyard of the Hambleton Inn's property. The backyard view is right upon a marina. We love boats so we found it very pleasurable. It was a quiet marina and we didn't see much boat traffic which added to the tranquility of the trip.

We went to dinner at "208 Talbot". It wasn't worth it. No bread with dinner. A poorly trained wait staff. The crab cake was so/so.

We then walked to Ava's Pizzeria and Wine Bar to find something for Jill. It's Zagat rated. We were realy impressed. It had great food, a chocolate hot lava type cake that was the best I've ever had and a great selection of wines. The wait staff was excellent. They had a long wait and saw us with Jill. (Don't all the good restaurants?) They were having a party upstairs in an hour and invited us to play with Jill up there until our table remote went off. We highly recommend Ava's Pizzeria and Wine Bar.

There is a fabulous toy shop across the street called Calico Toys. We all found something there to get. :)

I was able to squeeze in a massage at the Perry Cabin luxury resort. I highly recommend it to any mom needing time to herself.

Have fun!
