Description: Dead Freddies Island Grill is at 64th Street on the bayside. We have a delicious menu selection and a separate kids play area with a pirate ship for families. Great live music and a bayfront view makes for a relaxing stay. We also have an amazing outdoor deck to enjoy OC sunsets on the bay.

We tried Dead Freddie's in the off-season as they were one of the few places open, and we were very pleasantly surprised! We ordered the Rockfish Wraps appetizer and it was "to die for"! Their aole sauce is a wonderful accent, and the drinks were excellent as well. We have been back several times since then.

We had a stellar waitress who managed to get every order right in this rowdy group. She had great suggestions. The food was perfectly cooked, and there was a special going on that night to have crab added to any dish for a discounted price of $2 off the normal price. So, needless to say, we cornered the market on crab that night. We're Marylanders who moved to North Carolina ten years ago, and there is no comparison to the way Maryland cooks their seafood (AMAZING) compared to the greasy, fried seafood (and overdone crab) that you get in NC. That's why NC serves hushpuppies. It's their way of apologizing for their blase' seafood dishes. Getting back to Dead Freddies... I miss the spooky photos in the lobby, but I'm glad you still have your cool aquariums. AGAIN, the food was scrumptious, the service was sweet and my granddaughters warm, gooey brownie and ice cream was to die for! THANKS!

This place has so much potential. The location is great and the decor is awesome. We came on a Sunday afternoon, in the off season, thinking they would have game day special. We figured that since every other restaurant in OC does specials for locals we should try Dead Freddies, since it has a pretty good rep. Surprisingly there was no specials for locals. I guess I shouldn't expect them to cater to the locals, but then again the restaurants that do love the locals in OC seem to do better during the summer season.

So we ordered our food - which was mediocre to say the least. We ordered the homemade maryland crab soup which was literally tomato soup with crab meat on top. Although edible, it was my least favorite crab soup in OC. Although still better than Hilton Head South Carolina's crab soup. We also got the Carribean Jerk Chicken for an appetizer. Seemed like the right food for a pirate restaurant. It was undercooked and poorly seasoned. We hardly ate any of it, but we still paid full price. I didn't want to cause a fuss because I figured our server would notice that the plate was still full. Finally, We were not impressed with the kids meals. For a place that advertises to be kid friendly, we expected a little more. This is mediocre and a great spot for visitors. But as a local, I recommend many other restaurants before this one.

We had wonderful service. The waiter was very informative about the menu items. This is a great place for adults but also very family friendly. We will be back!

Great place for great food and to catch a college or pro football game. We always get the fried mozzarella it's a must have. The staff is friendly and helpful with food questions. Get ready for a good time when a game is on there are many big screens around the restaurant. The restaurant guests are very enthusiastic when it comes to the Maryland Terrapins. Go Terps and I can't forget Roll Tide.
