But for the fact that I found myself in the general vicinity by happenstance around dinner, I never would have found this place. Most towns have a place like this. The place where the locals hang out at the bar; where local families come to chow down; where the menu is diverse but simply stated and, for that matter, where the bartender knows how to produce a great martini. Vast varieties of seafood, wings, salads and servers who call you sweetie even if you're late 60s.
I felt right at home here. I was tempted by lots of the available seafood, but settled for the accurately described monster size chicken wings and a greek salad. Maybe the best wings I have had. Decent cabernet by the glass. Everything reasonably priced.
Nice, low key atmosphere with several sports televisions going but not obtrusively.
I would expect that the crab cakes and the rest of the seafood, burgers etc. would be just as good. So if you ever find yourself near the stadium in Hagerstown, as unlikely as that may be, be sure to stop by here while you are avoiding the Baymont (reviewed elsewhere) up the road. Happy Trails.
