My family and I stumbled upon Mission Barbecue in Ellicott City Maryland and had truly one of the most wonderful surprises we have ever had! My daughter was due to report to the Naval Academy the next morning and was craving classic American barbecue. Dave and the rest of the staff did not disappoint! The brisket, pulled chicken, turkey, and jalapeño cheddar sausage were all extraordinary! Nothing however, compared to the hospitality and the true honor given to veterans and servicemembers at Mission Barbecue. Thank you to Dave and the whole staff, we will be back for sure!

The family had dinner at Mission Saturday evening. We ate a variety of foods; 5 bone baby back ribs, turkey, ranch steak, pulled pork, macaroni & cheese, baked beans, baked sweet potatoes, corn bread, and blueberry cobblers.

The food was very tasty, and portions were generous. There was plenty of meat on the ribs (a pet peeve of mine), and the ranch steak was large enough for two meals for the wife. The sweet potatoes were large enough for two servings. The cornbread was thick and moist. And we had extra blueberry cobblers because we were so full from our meals.

Very fast service in a clean and friendly environment. Plenty of free parking right outside the door.

Five stars for this meal.

This humble restaurant, on the corner of Plum Tree Drive and Baltimore National Pike, is excellent for a dose of American patriotism and spirit as well as their great BBQ selections. They have some sandwiches and plain meat options, including pulled pork, brisket, salmon, etc. which all have two varieties each; lean or moist (I suggest moist). The sides (coleslaw, french fries, mac & cheese, etc.) and the desserts (banana pudding, etc.) are decent as well (however, the meat options are the best). There is a soda fountain, beside it tanks full of lemonade, iced tea, and the like with other condiments and things. At the table, there are six options for sauces, each with its own designated region of origin and a description of its flavor, as the sandwiches and meats themselves come plain. The decor is very nice as well, with patriotic symbol stickers and pictures of American soldiers donned on the walls. The patriotism of the joint is truly shown when, at noon, the national anthem plays from the loudspeaker. They also offer frequent discounts for veterans, so if you have served/are serving in the armed forces, you will be more than welcome at Mission BBQ. Also, they have a private room that is available for reservation.

If you are looking for freshly made bbq and fast service, look no further. Mission Bbq in Ellicott City Maryland is the right place. We go to this location after work and it is always crowded, yet the wait is minimal. The food always tasted great and the price you pay for is just right.

So if you are looking to get good bbq, they have good choices and tasty sauces as well.
