We frequent Wells annually. This time we searched for a Bed and Breakfast and discovered the Beach Farm Inn. It was nice to have a place off the main road, enjoy the comforts of home, and be served a wonderful breakfast. Our room was comfortable and what others have shared are true for our stay. Our only disappointment is we weren't able to use the pool as it rained the day we arrived and the next day we enjoyed the beach.
We hope to come back to stay.

My husband and I enjoy going to B & B's. This place was wonderful! Exceedingly clean, and lots of lovely rooms for guests to enjoy. The breakfast is delicious and dining room is spacious. The pool area is pretty and again spacious. The room was pretty and very comfortable. This B & B is a gem of restfulness in the the midst of a fun tourist area. Shuttle access is nearby to visit Wells, Ogunquit and the Kennebunks without driving.
Absolutely lovely. Hint: every B & b is different so it does not hurt to call or e mail and ask about what they provide and do not. The shampoo you like is easy to bring along! (CVS and Rite Aid nearby)

Here's what sets the Beach Farm Inn apart from run of the mill Bed & Breakfast places:
• First, our hostess, Nancy, was friendly, knowledgeable and available to help us make the most of our short stay on the southern Maine coast. She guided us to the perfect nearby places for nature hikes, an art museum, fried clams and steamed lobster. And She even speaks French well enough to give outlet shopping pointers to her Quebecois guests.
• Second, the newly renovated sun room is a delightful place to begin the day with one of Nancy's delicious egg-based breakfasts.
• Third, the pristine cold water swimming poolis the place to luxuriate after a long afternoon hike during a summer heat wave.

My wife and I wanted to satisfy our Maine lobster jones, but we couldn't take the time for a pilgrimage to our favorite pounds in the northern part of the state, instead we headed for the unfamiliar territory just an hour or so north of Boston. That's where we found the Beach Farm Inn.

We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Southern Maine can be hectic and honky tonk. Wells is neither. It's a little downscale breathing space between busy Oqunquit and Kennebunkport. If you want action and crowds, this isn't the place for you.

The inn is not on the beach or near a farm. It is set on a generous piece of land amid neatly landscaped trailers and modular homes, just far enough from the traffic of Route 1 to offer both convenience and tranquility. There is a beach a short drive (or long walk) away.

The house is like many a b&b we've stayed at, a large Victorian, comfortably furnished with period antiques. It offers the usual downstairs parlor with TV/DVD player, puzzles and games and books. You won't find TV, wireless internet or a phone in the room, thank goodness.

Our room was on the top floor with a private bath. No tub, but the stall shower had excellent water pressure and a stall shower. As other commenters have noted, soap but no shampoo is provided, but I'm practically bald anyway. And the water pressure and temperature were excellent. That's not always the case with an old house.

Thanks, Nancy. We hope we can come your way again some day.

Just simply 3 words : Friendly - Gorgeous - Scrumpious. That is the BEST Inn in New England without a doubt. The friendly couple who owns it are so wonderful & welcoming. You feel at home. Craig & Nancy can answer all your questions & request. Amazing breakfast, great pool in a nice backyard, lovely rooms & just great atmosphere in a impeccable decor. I'm looking forward to go again with my husband. Nancy's famous scones are DELICIOUS!
