Description: The Yew Tree Restaurant in Marlow is a popular destination for walkers and nature lovers in search of a rustic, friendly country pub in the beautiful Chilterns countryside. A longstanding historic pub in the area, the Yew Tree has maintained much of its original allure with its delightful low ceilings and hardwood floors. An outdoor paddock on the grounds holds three pet llamas, a sight that enchants many diners. Once indoors, enjoy a pint around the open fire in the bar area, or sit down to a traditional British meal in the formal dining area. On special evenings, guest chefs arrive to prepare an assortment of international dishes. A relaxing, low-key restaurant, The Yew Tree adds its own charm to the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Popped in for lunch today (with dog) as heard had reopened. My husband grew up in the area but hadn’t been here for many years. We often frequent Hambledon and Turville but Freith is equally lovely. Firstly, pub has been refurbished to a lovely standard, retaining lots of character but with a quirky flair. Great wine selection by the glass as well as best of the local ales. Loved the menu - “gastro” without being pretentious! Good seasonal selection. Thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hearty starters and exceptional chicken- both in quality and cooking. Food was super and great value. Service was also very friendly, attentive yet informal. Extra points as dog enjoyed his bar biscuit and drinking from a sparkly clean bowl(one of the nice touches often overlooked by pubs)! It wasn’t too busy when we went so the staff kindly said we could leave the car for an hour and take the dog for a walk. It was an absolute pleasure to walk in “chitty chitty bang bang” Chiltern hills and valley especially as, with the chalky hillside it is way less muddy than the sludge us dog walkers endure everywhere else at the moment. Top marks from us and the dog!

Easter Sunday lunch with friends who only live 20 minutes away but had never been, for us took us 50 minutes to get there but was absolutely worth it. I understand the pub has had quite a checkered recent past, well just fabulous the community pulled together to get this place open again as it's an asset to the village.
Lovely decor, friendly atmosphere, the staff were efficient with smiles. Good choice of local beers. Good choice on the menu with very reasonable prices (service not included and the staff today absolutely earned their tip!). We opted for 2 roast lambs with all the trimmings and 2 hake with creamy mash, kale and mushrooms - delightful. The dessert menu choices also looked good but we were too full, didn't stop us eyeing everyone else's dessert coming out. The restaurant was busy but the service was impeccable, as were the manners of our fellow diners children - always good to see!
Like all the extras in the loos too - details like that go a long way!
Plenty of parking - will definitely be coming here again, thanks to all.

The Yew Tree reopened last November and it was worth waiting for. The decor is beautiful and the food and service both excellent.

A birthday celebration is not that easy to organise but thanks to Carl, it has been really easy and professionally organised.

The table was set in an elegant and beautiful part of the pub. All went smooth and fine. The service is perfect and elegant. The staff is all smile, professional and courteous.
The food is delicious and beautiful presented. List of wines , just perfect.
Our 11 guests have been more than happy to discover this lovely place. It does worse a drive lunch or diner.
Many thanks for making this event a perfect moment.
We strongly recommend the YEW TREE .
