Struggle sometimes for how to rate a place - this particular Quality Inn will not wow you on its appearance from the outside and the interior carpet is circa 1977. Its price point is on the low side but not so low to make it the best bang for your buck. So I'm giving it a very good because I believe that overall it is an average+ place (3.5). If you are especially budget conscious this place can work for a few days or so. For me it was a perfect one night stay having landed after midnight and did not want to drive the 3 hours to Bar Harbor so it served its purpose. I will give five stars for service - the people at the front desk were charming and I really enjoy when people are overly kind which they were.

Three things to comment on - bed was decent, water pressure was above average and temperature reached high levels - three things that are pet peeves when they go against you - I expect working toilet, no bugs, etc...no place should be commended for those things - those should be expected.

So while it is an average rating ($20 less per night would make this best bang for your buck type of place) - I would stay again for a night in a bind. Not sure that it helps anyone but I would stay again for same price if others places around there were at the same price (most likely case).

So many things.....no elevators in this campus style property; of course we got a 2nd floor room with no elevator. Dirty carpets, not vaccumed in hallway; not much better in room. had to move rooms after first (of 2) night. The toilet wasn't properly flushing, and the water pipes were reversed so hot water was in the toilet and steam came up on flush. Room not the cleanest. You have to walk to the front lobby for breakfast, down from 2nd floor across the parking lot (rain or shine). Front desk person was seen sleeping in the chair, or off-shift desk persons were sleeping on the couch. No dress code; they just wore their favorite tshirts, no name tags. Very strange. Bad breakfast and never saw anyone restocking or helping people. Paid about $130 but worth $50. try another hotel.

Room tip: pick 1st floor

We booked a suite and the extra room made our stay comfortable. The food at breakfast was not topped up when it ran out and the dining area was too small for the size of the hotel. There was a kitchenette but no utensils, plates, etc. to prepare meals. The hot water took a long time to get to the taps and the shower head was a low volume/ low pressure type. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

Room tip: There was a truck park behind building 3 and they can run the motors on their fridge vans all night.

We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone. Great location for us while in Portland. Everything was good and working well except for one thing that was irritating. The wi-fi was almost unusable. Had a very difficult time setting up my plans for the next day. Hopefully a different room would not have the same issue.

There were 5 of us so we needed to use the sofa bed...what a disaster. No padding, you could feel the springs in it. Went to desk and he acted like he didn't care...but did finally get us 2 heavy duty mattress pads to compensate for "comfort". Pieces of paper, dust, dirt, and bottle caps still laying in the hallway Sunday morning that were there when we arrived Friday aftn.

Room tip: Price was pretty high for a Quality Inn so we thought it would be a good hotel but were very disappointed.
