We rate the 9 course tasting menu as one of the best dining experiences we've had. We liked the constant variety. The dishes were expertly prepared and not overly clever. Most were fish or vegetable. The one beef course was delicious, too. The finishing tiny desserts and chocolates were perfect. Service was professional and friendly. The restaurant can get noisy but to the end of our visit, it quieted down. We could appreciate the old school R&B music mix. If you're in Portland or visiting, make a reservation at Hugo's.
