We stayed at the Colony Hotel two nights in October. This is a Grand old hotel. The grounds are beautiful with a putting green, heated salt water pool and breathtaking views of the Maine coastline. We had lunch in the Mariner Grille which was fabulous. We were very fortunate to have weather close to 80. People were sunbathing and swimming in the 83 degree pool. Rooms were very large, king bed, ocean view. Breakfast buffet was included and very delicious. Will definitely stay there again.

wonderful time, older hotel so rooms are small but the staff is great, breakfast included is fresh, filling, Walk the wide hallways and pay special attention to the old grow fir flooring in the lobby. Everything is updated but you can still see evidence of the old transom windows. Note the extra wide hallways. Walk up the coast for some water exposure or into town for the shopping.
Quaint town.
Would recommend shoulder or late fall to avoid the crowds. Hotel closed last weekend of October. The last weekend is usually reserved for dog lovers. We don't have a dog but enjoyed everyone else's dogs.

We stayed here for a couple of days. Awesome facility. Staff is excellent, well informed and very welcoming. Walking distance to a great eating facility if you opt to not eat in the excellent restaurant at the Inn. They offer a heated sea water pool also. Breakfast is fantastic. This is a Top of the line facility.

We were here for a wedding, but stayed a couple of nights. The rooms are great, but we opted with other family to rent one of their adjoining house( or lodge). The place was fantastic. It was clean and roomy with no noise. The wedding was terrific . We went to the buffet breakfast the next day and it was wonderful. Since we stayed extra time, we had lunch in their bar next to the pool. I had a Burger, which turned out was one of the best Burgers, I hever had. The cost is normal for a seasonal beach hotel.

Room Tip: If you can afford, rent one of their adjoining house.

We stayed for 2 nights in October. As you enter the hotel, you immediately see the ocean through the quaint beautifully styled lobby. After we checked in, we took our complimentary glass of champagne to the veranda. We thoroughly enjoyed the ocean views. This particular weekend, a wedding party was staying at the hotel and some of the group were so loud. Why a few of them needed to yell at their other friends on the opposite side of the veranda is confusing. Everywhere they seemed to show up they were so loud. Our room was close the the elevator and they seem to be enjoying life until the wee hours! To top it all of we had to evacuate the hotel at 2 am because someone pulled the fire alarm. I wonder who did that!!?!
So, the floors are wooden and the walls are probably thin. Come prepared because this is a lovely hotel.
The breakfast was very nice. The buffet spread included breads, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, potatoes, fresh scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon or sausage, and fresh juices. The dining room is all glass and overlooks the beautiful grounds facing the ocean.
You can walk to town from this location. I wouldn’t say it’s close but with the proper shoes, it’s really an easy walk.
We enjoyed our stay. We would recommend this place to our friends.
