We took a quick drive up to the Clam Shack in Kennebunk, Maine because we've heard so many people rave about it, and it was pretty darn good. The fried clams were some of the best we've ever tasted, so it was worth the trip just for that. It was very crowded, with long lines, but there were people from all over the country, so it was interesting to chat while waiting. One of us had the lobster roll, which was a little unusual in that it was served on a round roll instead of a hot dog roll or baguette. And the prices were pretty high. But all in all, worth a visit. And besides, Kennebunk has lots of cute little shops.
