The Admiral Peary Inn Bed & Breakfast

Reviewed 11 December 2016

My wife and I stopped by to visit the Admiral Peary Inn and were quite pleased with our visit. We were entertained by our hostess who couldn't share enough information about the house, village, and food. The rooms are large and comfortable. The place was extremely well decorated for Xmas and there was even some snow in the yard.

Room Tip: Off the main road in a quaint village

We took our family of five (three kids under 11) and our two dogs, and couldn't have had a better stay. The inn itself is so cozy and well kept. And it had beautiful holiday decorations! Donna (owner) was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and the beds were comfortable. We all had a great stay and the kids were sad to leave. Very dog friendly too. She made sure everyone felt at home!

Arrived Friday late afternoon to a warm and cozy inn. Donna was wonderful! And Maya, the wonderdog, strolled up to greet us as we entered. Rooms are warm, quiet and clean. Breakfast was very yummy. Stone Mountain Arts is 20 minutes away and our next day's hike of Burnt Mountain Meadow was a 15 minute drive. Looking forward to may happy returns.

Room Tip: Located in a quiet part of a quiet Maine town.

Found this very pretty place at the last minute and so glad we booked. Very friendly hostess (Donna) made us so welcome. She had lots of information and advice on what to do and see and where to eat in the area. Fabulous cooked breakfast (even had Vegemite and Milo for us Aussies!) Lots of lively conversation with other guests around the table. Huge sitting / TV room and outdoor deck. Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Decent shower with good pressure and temperature. Older style rooms but very clean.

Lovely old building with ample parking walking distance from the centre of town. The rooms are scattered around the building, our 'Oriental' bedroom was at the back with a view over the rear garden and the decoration matched the theme. The en-suite bathroom was a good size with a small whirlpool bath with a shower over.
Breakfast is at a set time, published the day before, in our case it was 08:30 every day. The food was home-cooked and tasty, a typical American mixture of sweet and savoury served on the same plate.
The communal area is quite large with several comfy chairs, TV (there isn't one in the room) and a pool/snooker table. The host is friendly and helpful. Permanent occupants of the house are a Labrador dog who tended to greet people, and a cat who was more elusive and rarely seen.
