Enjoyed high quality tea in quaint Victorian atmosphere mostly decorated in pink...lovely gift shop and variety of tea for sale. Bought makaibari, love potion, aphrodisiac, which I liked. Many blends are quite exotic. Did not enjoy the decaf earl grey. Hours that the restaurant is open are somewhat sporadic and my friends have reported being turned away more than once due to them closing early, so advised to call ahead. Scones were not very fresh or tasty but gluten free options are available.

Special people deserve a special setting and Jacqueline's is a very special setting! Afternoon tea is a slow ritual and it encourages conversation and leisurely eating. Jacqueline sells over 90 varieties of tea and is a gracious guide for "newbies" who may be unfamiliar with the diverse offerings. Each guest is presented with individual pots of tea that can be shared with others at the table. When the pot is finished, choose your next tea and a fresh pot will arrive! Afternoon tea features freshly baked scones, cucumber sandwiches, a variety of savories and sweets served on a three tiered tray. Summers feature home made sorbet while cooler months feature a home made soup of the day. Guests can purchase tea (and a wide variety of tea paraphernalia) to take home. Jacqueline's stocks a large assortment of china cups/saucers, linens, tea pots, tea warmers, and aprons, as well as jewelry and fashion items. Gift certificates are available and products can be shipped. Reservations are required for afternoon tea, but cream tea is open as space allows with no reservations. Cream tea features fresh baked scones and one pot of tea per guest.

What a wonderful way to have some quiet time away from all the busy-ness of life, to have a couple hours to just relax and enjoy conversation with friends. I had heard wonderful things about Jacqueline's Tea Room from my neighbor, so we made a date for "cream tea" (walk-in only starting at 10:30AM, first come-first served, for each guest a pot of tea and two kinds of scones, with Devon cream, lemon curd and a locally made jam). Yummy! The only difficult part was selecting just one tea from the very extensive and interesting menu! I enjoyed the house blend of black tea with lavender flowers and honeybee pollen. My friend selected one of the fruit-flavored teas. You don't know what kinds of scones will be served on the day you visit, but they are from scratch and freshly baked. The "scones of the day" for our visit were lavender and summer fruit. Jacqueline also has a 4-course "afternoon tea", by reservation only. We saw one served to a family that was celebrating the daughter's birthday. Very festive. Plenty to enjoy for a group of 4. Some young women arrived shortly after us, decked out in fun hats for their tea party. It was pretty obvious that Jacqueline's has a rather wide appeal. Jacqueline is a wonderful hostess, the quaintly decorated rooms are bright and airy, and the cushioned seating is very comfortable. Jacqueline has an interesting array of gifts on display throughout the tea room's one floor. More than just teas, beautiful china tea pots/sets and tea towels/aprons. It might be the place where you find "something different" for that friend "who has everything". The tea room is in a darling cape-style building on Route 1, just north of the main downtown area of Freeport. Look for the pink front door. Off-street parking provided. I look forward to visiting again!

Best tea, phantastic interior, every detail fits perfectly to the 40ies even the wallpapers in the restrooms. Such nice people. Highest recommendation for afternoon tea. Greetings from Germany.

A friend gave me a gift certificate for Jacqueline's Afternoon Tea & three of us wound up going (a guy and two women).
I had anticipated (from the site photos) rickety metal chairs, but they were surprisingly sturdy and, with cushions, very comfortable. Some were even swivel or rocking chairs.
There were over 90 teas to choose from, so Jaqueline's assistance and explanations were very helpful. And the 3-tier platter of scones, finger sandwiches, and desserts was a delight. I love spicy foods so would have liked more seasoning, but, still, everything was very good. And the final sorbet was delicious.
In this atmosphere, it was easy to relax and enjoy the food, tea, & chatting and debating with one another. The consensus was that it was thoroughly enjoyable and we were glad we had gone.
