I wrote this review for August, but we visit here year-round. Good-sized "mountain" for little kids - our daughter had been hiking with us here since she was three and loves it. Dog- and bike-friendly, with small playground for the kiddos to burn off any leftover energy while moms & dads hand out on a picnic bench.

Between this place and Rage Pond, we get our money's worth from our annual Maine park pass!

The hike up the mountain is not overly strenuous, and gives great views of the area.

We usually visit this park in the winter when it isn't as busy. We love to snowshoe the trails if conditions allow. Summer is a very busy time here so we prefer other locations for hiking.

My wife and I took a day trip from Kennebunkport to Bradbury just to do something different. It's a bit out of the way but we had no trouble finding it. We hiked up the Summit trail which starts right at the parking lot. It was fairly steep but short and was manageable in tennis shoes w/no problem (we are in no way experienced hikers). The view from the top was very nice and would be beautiful in the fall.

From there we took the Bluff trail. It was pretty flat and it's view was decent but honestly, probably not worth the few minutes that it took to get there. There were many more trails that one could hike/bike but it was getting late in the day so from there we backtracked down back to the car.

Overall, I'd say for the non-hiker it was fine for a quick side trip just for the view from Summit. If you're a hiker or biker it'd probably be more up your alley. One additional word, if you go in July bring bug repellent as the mosquitoes were everywhere.

We sure enjoyed this park. As the above review, we drove right by Hwy 9 the first time because there was no sign that said to turn for the state park. Once on 9 we did see a large sign on the left that said Bradbury state park. The fee is $3 per person. (Make sure you have the exact amount just in case no one is at the gate. They have a place that you stick your money in) We just got back yesterday, April 9th, and there is still plenty of snow on the ground. We were not wearing hiking boots and should have been just because of the snow. We did the Summit Trail which was great. We loved sitting at the top and watching for birds. We also did another mile loop which was great as well, but thick snow. I think it is a great place to do some easy hiking and have a picnic and I would recommend it!
