A hidden gem in every way. Stayed at the end of April 2017. Basic but clean accommodation (but it is a homestay not a 5* hotel remember), but who cares? You are only in the house to sleep and shower. Very quiet and peaceful, you could not ask for more. Aireen, the Manageress was a gem, looking after our every need, food (ah.. the duck soup!!!), drink, conversation and company. As if we were part of her family for the few days we stayed. Stunning views over the valley and up at 0430 each day to watch the sunrise. Probably the best four days of our holiday. Very highly recommended. Go there with an open mind... and leave with a big smile on your face and a tinge of sadness in your heart.

kiangan viewpoint homestay is an excellent place to stay , the view from the veranda is a rice and vegetable terraces with in the surrounding valleys and mountain, you could view the farmers tending their farms from the dining area, you could literlly smell the fresnesh of vegetables and grass as well as the flowers from the wild grass.

Arnold the manager is very accommodating , he is always asking for things that will make our stay comfortable, kiangan arabica coffee is free flowing.

the dining area at the ground level of the ulog or cabin is equiped with fire pit in the middle.

the food that they serve is good their local sauge is very tasty.

we will definitely come back

The name doesn't lie, it is a exceptional viewpoint over the valley, the rice terraces and the small cities (Kiangan and Lagawe). Hard to find even for tricycle drivers! The property is big and can host a family (ask directly to them since Agoda or booking system might not reflect the true capacity). It's clean, comfortable, you can cook..well I felt at home! The lady who manages it is wonderful and very attentive. You will be contacted by friendly tourist guides who are trying to develop the tourism in Kiangan and can let you discover the area, all the local shops (e.g small farms) and might invite you to share a meal with filipinos friends. A lovely and peaceful retreat in the rice terraces, away from the touristic places.

Room Tip: There are in fact two houses: the native one in white and the main one. Once booked, you will have access to the full house (bedroom, kitchen+living room). Contact them regarding the capacity, they can host a whole family!
