We stayed with Lesley and Robert for just the one Saturday night and wish it could have been more.
We were warmly welcomed on arrival and helped upstairs with the bags.
The Green bedroom, with very comfortable twin beds and a good shower was peaceful and has a lovely view out to the gardens and the church.
Breakfast was a feast of tastes - sausages, eggs, mushrooms, honey and breads were all so incredibly tasty and so rarely experienced elsewhere these days.
Quickly accessible from the M5 but so peacefully located, Causeway Cottage is one of the best.
Thanks, Lesley and Robert!

This is the second time we have visited Causeway Cottage. Lesley and Robert are always very welcoming. Lesley's cooking is amazing and evening meals should be taken whenever possible. Very comfortable accommodation.

Room tip: Comfortable bed and good en-suite facilities.

We were visiting the gardens of Somerset and on the map Causeway Cottage was the ideal location to stay three nights - it proved to be an excellent choice. Lesley and Robert were exceptional hosts making us very welcome with tea and cake on arrival - we soon found out that Lesley is a marvelous cook and also able to give us advice on the best roads to take and interesting places to see en route. We were able to sample two of the bedrooms available as the double was already booked on the first night we wanted to stay so we had one night in the twin and two in the double - both rooms were very cosy with comfortable beds and en suites and everything you could need including lots of reading matter. Breakfasts were delicious taken around a large table in convivial company. We booked an evening meal cooked by Lesley on the first night which was a delicious treat. For us the whole experience was far better than staying in a faceless hotel. There is a lovely garden with a view to the church just to make it more perfect.
Thank you Lesley and Robert for a wonderful stay - we hope to visit again.

My husband and l have just returned from a weekend at Causeway Cottage and couldn’t have chosen a nicer place! The location is quiet, beautiful and secluded, but also only 5 minutes from the M5, so perfect if you’re looking for overnight accommodation to break your journey.
However, it’s much better if you have the opportunity to stay longer, to indulge yourself in all it has to offer, and to explore both the North and South as it is conveniently situated equidistant to both coasts
and is nestled in beautiful countryside..Our hosts were very welcoming and professional , which evidently comes naturally when you’ve been in the hospitality industry for 25 years!
We were welcomed with tea and cakes on the lawn ( most welcome after our long and stressful journey), and we were instantly relaxed.
We had booked the Blue Room with its lovely king size bed. It was tastefully furnished with everything we could have wanted, including tea and coffee making facilities and a flask of chilled milk.
So good to note the absence of a tv in the room! Really not necessary when wanting an escape from reality, although we had “the run of the house” which included the option to watch tv, play board games, or just read in the lovely beamed sitting room.
The breakfasts were first class, with plenty of choice of cereal fruit and yoghurt and a full cooked breakfast made to order. We had to skip lunch on both days because our breakfasts were so substantial!
Lesley was very helpful in suggesting places to visit that we wouldn’t have otherwise found, and was able to suggest nice pubs nearby to have our evening meals.
We will certainly return when next we visit the area. Many thanks Lesley and Robert for a wonderful weekend!

Room tip: The Blue Room is the only one with a Kingsize bed l believe.

Excellent accommodation close to the motorway. Lovely tea and cake on arrival and a jolly good breakfast next morning with locally sourced food. Pity we only booked one night but we hope to be back next year.
