Marigold Villa is a lovely large old house in a quiet street in Cochin. We booked the place looking at the pictures on Airbnb - it is beautiful, with a large garden and even a little private pool. In person, the house was just as nice but the charm was a bit lost because it's surrounded by other houses, with construction on neighbouring roofs. It's a bit far from the heart of Fort Kochi but getting taxis was not an issue at all. The house had more than enough space to sleep us (We were 4 and it could easily accommodate 6 or 7). Only one room has an AC but there are fans everywhere and the weather was nice enough that it didn't matter. The house was bit musty on the first day but a good airing sorted that out. The windows are sheathed in mosquito nets and so it's quite comfy inside with no mosquitoes or bugs (though outside it can be quit buggy). The host, Mahesh, was incredibly nice and definitely helped make our stay amazing. He made us breakfast every morning and even offered to drive us out to a couple of places. Thank you Mahesh! Special mention for the pool which we had a blast in. Just sitting there with our legs in the water or splashing about - it was great fun and we loved the house just for that. Overall, it is a great place for a large-ish group that wants to relax/ unwind in Cochin.
