“Food was terrible”

Trapp's Cajun & Seafood Restaurant
Ranked #2 of 144 Restaurants in West Monroe
Certificate of Excellence
Description: The year was 1898 when the Trappey name would elevate its presence in Louisiana history. Bernard Trappey created a hot sauce recipe that he knew would be a hot commodity, he along with 11 sons embarked on this exciting new business venture together. In 1913 Bernard - somewhat reluctantly - agreed to let a cigar salesman peddle the sacred Trappey's hot sauce. It was that key decision which propelled their business to a whole new level. The company grew over the years and is now distributed nationwide as well as abroad in Europe, Japan, South America, and Mexico. So, before you leave our restaurant, take a look at our family photos on the wall and take a walk down memory lane with us capturing several generations of Trappey's Hot Sauce!

We were so excited to eat here because we heard good feedback on this place, we were very disappointed! The fish was too salty, fried pickles was a oily mess and my mom didn't even eat her crab cakes because they had too many shells in them. When complaining to the waitress about the crab cake, she just said"ok" and didn't often anything else. The only thing good about this place is the view but I would not waste my money here again!

This little jewel on the Ouachita is a must go! Joey Trappey and his team prepare the most authentic Louisiana cuisine in the area! Just a short distance from I-20 makes it an easy stop when traveling across north Louisiana. By pass the chains, you’ll be glad you did.

Our server Kaylie was the sweetest most attentive server you can find. She really brightened our day... Thank you!!
As for the food: delicious and just what we were looking for: a fresh taste from Louisiana! You must order their crawfish tails for appetizers!! And no mater what you’re having, their side of roasted corn is so delicious! Thumbs up for their smothered catfish (I don’t even like catfish, but tried some from hubby’s plate and it was great!!)
We was a pleasant stop by the river on our way home from Florida!

Being on a limited budget I researched before taking out of town guests there so I'd know what the prices were like. We went for lunch on Saturday and found too late that they don't have 'lunch prices' at lunch on Saturday. Fried fish was excellent but for $15 an entree, they could do better than iceberg lettuce for the salad. ugh. The total plus tip was outrageous when we didn't even have a drink or appetizers. Sorry Trapp's , I can get catfish just as good elsewhere without breaking the bank. And turn the music down!
