I celebrated my hen/stag party here with a great group of girls and i cannot recommend it enough. It offers a real home from home experience with all the mod-cons and comforts one could ever want. Beautiful scenery, fab facilities (hot tub/ pool etc) and most importantly an amazing kitchen/ dining area which is ideal with a big group! I can honestly say it was one of the best weekends I have ever had! Thank you

Beggars Barn was the perfect venue for my 60th birthday celebration - a stunning house which was well equipped and comfortably accommodated 16 adults. We were blessed with great weather which meant we could take full advantage of the pool and gardens and apart from the boys playing golf on the neighbours wonderful little course on Sunday morning, we never left the grounds. Croxfords catered for us on the Saturday night which meant we could all enjoy the evening. Camilla and her team could not have been more helpful and I have no hesitation in recommending Beggars Barn. I would return in a heartbeat.

My friends family and I have just returned from my hen weekend. Beggars barn is gorgeous. Cosy modern plus luxurious. It has everything you need, from pool to gym to many champagne glasses, not to mention sound systems in every room. The whole place is immaculate and well kept - including the garden. All the beds were amazingly comfortable. It truly was a really special and memorable weekend. An excellent spot for large groups.
We stayed here recently for a surprise birthday party for my wife. From the very warm welcome on arrival, via the comprehensive (and simple) explanation of the workings of the house, to the very accommodating check-out, this was a wonderful stay.
The first thing we noticed - after Camilla's enthusiastic welcome - was the opportunity it offered the many children to explore - the house is interesting and mysterious without being hazardous. (And there was a large and beautifully-coloured pheasant at the windows each morning.)
The kitchen is very well equipped, to a very high standard - two wine storage units which chill or warm, and plenty of storage for food. Once you've got the hang of the different functions, it was very easy to work in: it's laid out very logically and became a natural focal point of the house. It gives on to a very well-kept garden. (Only the extreme cold prevented us making more use of the outside space.)
The combination of a proper grown-up dining room and table in the kitchen worked very well for us. The formal drawing room has wonderful natural light on three sides during the day, and an excellent and very deep wood fire, with a glass screen door, for the evenings. The family room by the kitchen has a more labour-saving gas fire, also with a good glass screen.
We had about twenty of us for drinks and twelve for dinner on the Saturday night and at no stage were we cramped. In fact one of the best things was the extent to which factions of the group could find their own space.
Some of the modern features - like the vacuum-cleaning system - were a bit beyond my technical abilities, but, as our guests were generally quite tidy, that wasn't much of a problem.
All the bedrooms were well-proportioned - especially the main one - and the beds were very comfortable.
At dawn, you get a sense of seclusion - not isolation - with virtually no other human presence visible from the windows (which was good because we couldn't find any curtains in the master bedroom).
Unfortunately we didn't do much exploring of the local area because of prep for the party, though we did manage an excursion to the nearest village, Shutford, which is about a half-mile away up the hill. The George and Dragon had just hired a new chef and cooks, and the landlady didn't flinch when we asked for a table for twelve for lunch on Saturday, which meant her moving some tables around (with help). An excellent burger, and (as you'd expect) well-kept Hooky; also a very good, if short, children's menu.
I enthusiastically and without reservation recommend this house, and would have very happily stayed for the full week.
I booked Beggars Barn for my sister's hen weekend and I definitely chose the perfect house for this occasion! The house is absolutely stunning and tucked away in picturesque countryside with easy access to Oxford and Stratford Upon Avon.
The house is spotless and in great condition. The kitchen and garden areas provided a great space for socialising and we enjoyed using the swimming pool and trampoline!
We didn't want our time at the house to end but I hope to be able to stay at Beggars Barn again for another occasion in the future. Thank you to Camilla for helping me organise a wonderful weekend away.
