I've eaten at this cafe numerous times while visiting friends and the food is always a disappointment. The atmosphere is the best thing it has going for it. The outdoor patio is charming but the inside is a cross between a 50s diner and your great-grandmother's kitchen. The tables are small and the rooms are crowded. That would be tolerable if the food was better. I've tried the soups, the daily specials, the take-out including several desserts and they are all just okay. The quality of the food certainly doesn't match the over the top, premier prices. ($12 for a chicken salad sandwich, drink not included!) They do have a fine assortment of homemade snacks & breads, and everything does seem to be fresh.
