“A hidden Gem, tucked away in the hills, overlooking the whitewashed town of Torres”

Villa El Nogal is situated high up in the Sierra Maginas overlooking the lovely white washed town of Torres. If you are a nervous driver though beware because the roads are very narrow at times and extremely winding and a car is essential. Set off the beaten track, with stunning views, this villa offers peace and relaxation. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and terraced area, barbecuing almost every night. The owners are lovely, and although they could not speak English we managed to communicate without much trouble. We went for two weeks but my husband and I could have stayed longer. Because it was so isolated and had no wifi though, 2 weeks was long enough for our 12 and 8 year old sons.

“Breathtaking location - lovely house - superb value”

We came to Villa El Nogal looking for sun and our own pool off the tourist trail in Spain - those were our only criteria. We left with wonderful memories a love of the beautiful Sierra Magina and a firm intention to return.

The Villa is comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The three bedrooms, bathroom and small galley kitchen are all off a central large living/dining room. A converted garage houses the table tennis table with a further bathroom beyond. The Villa is located in the hills SSE of the charming little town of Torres and it is the secluded location and the views of the Sierra Magina which we loved most about this place. There's a lovely terrace in the welcome shade of a walnut tree where we ate almost all our meals. The private pool of which we had sole use is a decent size, about 8m x 5m, fairly deep throughout - 120cm at its shallowest and 180 at its deepest which was perfect for our three boys (5, 8 and 10) and gave them the encouragement to really improve their swimming.

Nearby are the attractive towns of Baeza and Ubeda. But we felt that the Villa could well be a useful location from which to explore further afield.

Most of all, we were superbly looked after by the owners, Juanna and Jesus - they could not have done more to make us feel welcome and help us enjoy our stay.

We will be back.

Dear guest,

We appreciate your comments, however we would like to point out our point of view.

We are really sorry that for a matter of money (that we had previously agreed and you never discussed before) you could not enjoy your holidays as many guests have done during the 15 years we have been renting this property, you can check some comments above.

Regarding the price, you booked via Booking.com and the price at that time was higher that our current price, guests have a good chance to book a great house for a price in line with the market in this beautiful area of Andalucia.

We can not truly believe rest of comments, first because the first day of your stay you sent us an email to book directly with us for the entire week (avoiding the intermediate agency, to pay less) so we understood you were happy with the villa and the area. Same day, after we decided to continue working through Booking, and not to modify the agreed price, we receive many emails asking for improvements that we solved the same day (ie. changing the toaster for a "new" model or repairing things that "mysteriously" was broken)

Regarding the area we are really proud to say that this is a peaceful area of Andalusia, is placed in the Natural Park of Sierra Magina, most of our guests are looking for a place to relax and enjoy of their families. This is a great area for enjoying of nature but also of Culture, Jaen is 45 minutes driving, similar than Ubeda or Baeza (Word Heritage cities). Many of our previous guests have also visited Cordoba or Granada, both less than 2hours driving from the villa.

The private swimming pool is smaller than an olimpic one, but with 8 x 5 meters is more than enough for swimming and for children and adults to play, on the other hand is really curious to hear that a swimming pool could be cold during mid August in Andalusia :))

Is true that there is no bathtub, recently this year we have totally renewed one of the bathrooms, trying to improve the quality of the villa and we had no time to modify the comment.

Again we are sorry to receive these comments but on the other hand are useful to continue working to improve the quality of our property and to create the best place for holidays in the beautiful location of Andalucia.

Regards.

Juan
