I thought I'd gotten a good rate for a Crowne Plaza until I got to check-in. There was a sign about a newly instituted $10 parking fee. This was not on the IHG web site when I booked my reservation.

Room was good, but the hallway outside my room had a very noisy air conditioning duct that rattled.

Bed was comfortable, shower water pressure was good. Desk clerk was cheerful, helpful and fast.

That hidden $10 parking fee took a good rate and made it only marginally acceptable. It was not a regional tax because this fee was itself taxed (10%).

Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice conference areas, great breakfast buffet, awesome pillows, nearby restaurants and shopping...what more could you ask for? I have booked this location several times and I'm sure I'll be back.

I am sorry to have to complain though these were our problems...the AC unit was impossible to adjust. We tried to raise the AC temp. 2 degrees. The heat kept coming on. A tech came in to show us how to do it. After, the heat came on. We had to cover the vents with pillows. We were freezing. The front desk, anytime day or nite, did not take calls... same with concierge. Any time of day. Busy. Busy. But if you get dressed and go to the desk, voila, 2 folks there. Doing nothing. Our room had no coffee or cups stocked. Each time we had a problem, we had to walk all the way to the front desk. We were 2 people. But toiletries left for 1 person with no extra roll toilet paper. Forget this hotel. Has issues.

The room was nice and very comfortable. The food was delicious! The best thing about my trip was three people - Gerry, Gillory, and Aric. They are the absolute most wonderful folks in the world! I was there for 5 days, ordering room service and we had several group events. They served us so graciously. They were professional and humorous. They are priceless! Aric was the wonderful shuttle driver. They made it all worth it!

Room Tip: My room was 2305. LOVED IT! Totally private.

We frequently travel from the airport in New Orleans and decided this trip to utilize the stay, park and fly option at the hotel. The stay was uneventful, however I would advise looking elsewhere if you'll be taking an airport shuttle. We had the absolute worst experience with the shuttle driver today. When we checked in we were instructed to simply call upon our return to the baggage area to inquire about the next shuttle. This was at 3:05 pm. I was told the shuttle ran every 30 minutes and the next was at 3:15. We grabbed our bags and hustled to get to the pickup area- when we arrived at 3:11 we saw the driver pulling away with an empty shuttle (not transporting anyone back to the hotel) and waved to get his attention. We called the hotel to let them know we were watching him pull off and they said they'd have him circle back around. We waited in the 96 degree heat for 15 more minutes for him to come back. When he did, he insisted that he had not left earlier than 3:15 and that if wanted to he could have us sit in the bus for another 15 minutes before he left (basically a threat- if we wanted to say anything to anyone about him leaving early, then he would further delay us just because he could.) We decided to get out of the shuttle at that point and instead take a taxi back to the hotel to avoid any further interaction with the shuttle driver.) He had us unload our own bags from the shuttle while he watched. We called the hotel manager, Tom (I think), who just said he'd talk Aric (the driver) and 'open an investigation' and would be willing to pay our taxi fare if we could get the taxi driver to come in to collect the fare. Then he asked if we'd like for him to call us back or what we'd like him to do..... well, I didn't really know how to answer that. Our taxi driver wouldn't go in to collect the fare, we're out $40 more and stressed to the max over something that could have been handled with a simple statement from the driver, such as "I'm sorry for the delay."

Please know that we are using all the aspects that you have spoken about and are currently looking into the situation. Our park, stay, and go package is very popular and our guest love the complimentary shuttle that we provide and our convenience to the airport. The airport shuttle does run on a schedule but if it is feasible we try to keep our guests waiting long for pick-ups. Once again, please accept my apologies and know that with you being one of our guests your feedback is definitely very important to us.
