I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Our tour group needed a hotel for one night on our way through Louisiana on I-10. We checked the other holel near the interstate first, but they didn't have non-smoking rooms. I was skeptical about the Days Inn because experience tells me they're usually run down and dirty.
This hotel was very clean, the rooms with spacious - two queen beds and a love seat sitting area. The pool was clean, the rooms had NO odors and the furnishings seemed newly upgraded.
The one negative note is that it's not in the best area of town -- there's not really a best area of town in Hammond. If I were traveling with small children, I might drive a little farther to stay in Baton Rouge rather than here. We had a black plastic box in the back of our pickup with a lug wrench, jack, and some work gloves. The box was stolen over night. However, the rooms felt safe and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again -- I'd just make sure I locked my car doors and parked near a light.
