“Nice new property”
Reviewed 21 August 2012

New property that is immaculate from the entry way to the room corridors. Room was spacious but limted bathroom ammenities (soap and lotions). Internet speed was a bit slow and wireless was not very reliable.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the highway experience highway noise.

Love the large rooms in this hotel. Have stayed in regular room and suite and never been disappointed. Breakfast is complimentary now which is a nice touch. Hot selection and is quick. I would stay here any chance I get.

Room Tip: higher floors have very little noise although never had a problem on lower floor with noise.

Stayed at this Holiday Inn during a trip with family and friends June 17-19...All I can say is WOW!!! The check in service was amazing (Spencer did a fantastic job) and we were checked in to our room in less than 5 minutes and on our way to our room, which, to my delight, was on the top (6th) floor, which was very quiet, and, unlike the other floors in the hotel, has a commons area and small hospitality area by the elevator and also fresh donuts in the morning (nice suprise). The room itself was very nice and clean and was more than expected. The beds were extremely comfortable and the ceiling fan moved the air perfectly thru the room.

Downstairs was a lovely 24 hour fitness center with just about every piece of workout material one could need. And it was also kept very clean and in working order. And the outside pool was clean and cool.

Attached to the hotel is the Sporting News Restaurant/Sports Bar. A pleasant atsmophere, and good food awaited us in here and the prices were very afordable. Also, the hotel provides a complimentary hot breakfast in the restaurant which was also good. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, bacon, and rolls to name a few things...

Check out was seamless and my bill was spot on. Other hotels should model themselves after this one.

Definately a must stay place in Baton Rouge. This Holiday Inn gets it all right.

Room Tip: 6th floor very quiet

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. The first time last yr we had reserved a no- smoking room, and were given a very smelly smoking room. This stay we arrived into a room where there was still trash in the baskets as we arrived, and the room service dishes from the previous evening were still in the hallway. The closet door was broken, the carpet in the hall and room was stained, the room and towels both had an odor to them, no room service menu, the toilet was clogged and the shower/tub was so slippery my husband fell getting out of the shower. In subsequent days, there were many more housekeeping problems such as not replacing glasses, amenities and towels. Even after noting the deficits, we STILL had the same problems day after day. We did take advantage of the free breakfast in the restaurant most mornings- the food was good (same hot buffet every day), but the staff was overwhelmed for the service. Silverware, plates and napkins had to be asked for and buffet items such as scrambled eggs were slow in being replaced. Several members of the restaurant staff had limited English proficiency. Room service was OK, but dishes were left in the hall up to a full day after being left. A promised "make-up package" never materialized. Granted, we were staying with Priority Club points at a value level (5000 pts per nite), however if we had been paying for this hotel, it would have not been unacceptable.
