America's Best Value Inn is a bare-bones, affordable spot to rest your head for the night.
It is certainly a no-frills motel, offering amenities such as a fridge, a microwave, and a lot of things to meet your basic needs. The staff is friendly, so it shows that the business is something they pride themselves on.
The property, however, could use some attention. The low rates are reflected in its blemishes, which were apparent in both rooms my family stayed in. The occasional cracks (some patched, some not), dirty spots, and misses on the housekeeping staff's part became fairly obvious after a few glances around the room. The shower curtain rod looked like it was halfway ripped away from the walls, and the bathroom door appeared to be warped when it took a bit of muscle to open it.
The continental breakfast is a welcome convenience in the morning, so we certainly appreciated it.
Like I said, the low rates are nice, and the customer service is exceptional. It meets the basic requirements for a place to get a good night's rest. But the property could use some more attention, which I'm confident the diligent staff could put forth some effort to really make the property shine.
I wish I could award half points, because this would be a solid 3.5. A 3 is still positive, so I do recommend America's Best Value Inn if you need a place to stay for a night at a good price, as long as you're willing to turn a blind eye to the blemishes.
